Welcome. He is loaded with potential and he has a lot of good weapons. If he can stay healthy he should have a killer season. He has a scary track record of staying healthy so protection is truly key. Keep him on his feet and he will get you to the postseason. I like Cousins but he can't lead a team to the promised land so good move drafting Penix.

I was as shocked as anyone when they drafted him so early. I was thrilled though because I was afraid the Giants were planning to move up and take him later in the round. I just couldn't imagine him on their team plus they had added Nabers at pick 6.

If Kyle Pitts can turn into the superstar we the all thought he'd be coming out of college the Atlanta offense could be something to challenge the Bucs in the NFC South, and Penix will need that outlet in the middle in short yardage.

There has never been a HC who had to face the on-the-field adversity that Marv Levy faced. Made it to the playoffs in 8 of his 10 seasons as full-time HC. 4 straight Super Bowl losses from 1990-1993. I know - it's weird to characterize winning 71% of games in Buffalo as 'adversity' - but can you imagine the uproar he had to contend with during that run of Super Bowl failures?

I never understood the criticism for that pick. Obviously Kirk was a stop gap and it looked like a smart move from the start to me. I haven't seen enough of Michael Pennix to offer an educated opinion. From what I saw he appeared a bit erractic. Accuracy for me is #1 on the list of atributes.

He was never as good as his resume. I tried to tell a Jags fan (yeah I actually know one) this and he soon found out.

Scherff made 5 Pro Bowls, Russ Grimm made 4. And Brandon Scherff was no Russ Grimm.

He was a pro bowler and all pro with us, the Jags overpaid got one good year and his body broke down. Is he a HOF'er , no, is he a guy showed up, guts ans blood and then cashed in with another team, sure. Comparing any player to Grimm, Jacoby etc.isnt really fair, we had Chris Samuel, Jon Jansen, hard nosed guys who played, hof'er no but they finished here. Scherff got caught in the middle of a disastrous franchise. On gameday he played, left and still a good dude,no drama, went to work and now going home. I think we're a little skewed because we wanted him to retire here atleast the love we had on here until shit went south. No one will remember him as a Jag but I'll remember him and Trent carrying the O line on some terrible teams.
