He was a pro bowler and all pro with us, the Jags overpaid got one good year and his body broke down. Is he a HOF'er , no, is he a guy showed up, guts ans blood and then cashed in with another team, sure. Comparing any player to Grimm, Jacoby etc.isnt really fair, we had Chris Samuel, Jon Jansen, hard nosed guys who played, hof'er no but they finished here. Scherff got caught in the middle of a disastrous franchise. On gameday he played, left and still a good dude,no drama, went to work and now going home. I think we're a little skewed because we wanted him to retire here atleast the love we had on here until shit went south. No one will remember him as a Jag but I'll remember him and Trent carrying the O line on some terrible teams.
I know what a 5 time Pro Bowl player looks like. And it is not Brandon Scherff. He was very good, he was never ever a dominant OG as his resume suggests which is my point. His first year in Jacksonville he allowed 6 sacks, which is a big number for a guard and his PFF was 59. The Jags didn't overpay if they were actually getting a great player as 5 Pro Bowls would suggest, but he was never that player and Jags fans were very disappointed.
I'm going to suggest his Pro Bowl selections were a combination of weak competition and rep from his draft position.
