To me, positional value (including RB shelf life), the fact the RB class is deep, and the other needs we have all over the place (not to mention we probably want to garner more picks)… I too would be surprised if they go with a back at 29. But, as SilentThreat said, it’s BPA all the way, so who knows. And it takes two to tango with trades obviously…
Another thing i've tried to change my mentality about is positional pidgeonhole. I start to look at players with their actual input into the 11 on the field. The Lions got laughed at when they took Jahmyr Gibbs at 12th overall when he wasn't even the 'top' RB that we all had been hearing about all year long. That was Bijon Robinson that went 5 picks earlier, and he was the only one widely regarded as a 'first round' pick. All Gibbs has done is put up almost 3200 yards and 32 TD of offense over the last two seasons.
I've always said that there are only 3 positions I'm not willing to spend a 1st round pick on... and all 3 are Special Teamers. Long Snapper, Kicker, Punter. ANY All Pro level position player, can have a legit case made for them to be 1st round worthy... An All Pro OG is worth more to me than a 20th ranked OT. The OT is still starting calibre, but that extra level top 2 at their position is just different. If they love Henderson, do it. PERSONALLY? I really like Bhayshul Tutin, not only because of the measurables, but because of the value... But again, if Henderson is going to be an All Pro level player, pull the trigger. The added value also of a 5th year of control as you're going to be entering your contract talks with your (hopefully) elite level QB is big when it comes to a cornerstone member of your offense.
