The 2025 Draft Thread

Man, this FS group is insane. Might try and rank them - Nick Emmanwori South Carolina is an athletic freak for sure and will likely be the #1 for 99.99 percent of the draft pundits, but I'm leaning Xavier Watts as my preference. Dude is simply a ballhawk personified.

Really like Watts playing partner too! CB, Ben Morrison is a doggone good CB. He can do it all, I think.

Watching more of the EDGE players and Antwaun Powell-Ryland comes like a shot of a cannon at times.

Yeah, I think I whiffed a bit on the VaTech Edge and had him ranked too low 19/20 he's a better prospect than Kennard I think in hindsight more power to his rush. I like him a lot.

Emmanwori is just such a huge guy at that position. He is my number one S by a long ways.

Logan Paulsen is no flame thrower. If anything I get annoyed (though I like him) when he gets a bit too homerish for my liking -- so when he of all people is going it wouldn't surprise him if they moved on from Robinson -- at a minimum it shows that the people here who have had enough of Robinson being the lead in our backfield, aren't just some overreacting emotional fans.

IIRC, Paulsen said on the TC podcast a little while back that he'd bet his house that the Commanders draft a RB this year, which you've been advocating all along--the drafting, not the house betting :) .

BRob would save us a bit over $3 mill if released or maybe is another team were interested in a trade. I've wondered if AP has sent fellers out there to see if other teams would be interest in trading for him.

Autocorrect is always amusing. Don't know if you say "fellers" over there but I love the idea of sending the guys round (presumably with baseball bats!).

I definitely don't see going RB in the first. They seriously need pass rush and there should be somebody worthy of the pick. If not and it's a RB then that is pretty surprising.

To me, positional value (including RB shelf life), the fact the RB class is deep, and the other needs we have all over the place (not to mention we probably want to garner more picks)… I too would be surprised if they go with a back at 29. But, as SilentThreat said, it’s BPA all the way, so who knows. And it takes two to tango with trades obviously…

Seems like they’re doing their homework on (mid-late round) punt returners, which makes sense w/ Crowder gone, as well as needing competition/depth for McCaffrey in the slot.
