NFL Pickem Contest: 'It's Baaaaack!'

Wow my picks have been horrible. Need to reverse the trend this week.
 
The crazy thing is I felt like I was going to really nail it this week. Almost all the picks just seemed so well, obvious. Looking at the relatively homogenous picks that most of us seem to have made, I'd say I wasn't the only one feeling a little smug last week...and not so great this week. :anonymous: :kick_can:
 
8 home dogs this week? Man alive. And Houston at home, favored by only 3 against the Cowboys? Wow, Vegas must know something I don't.
 
Did you see where Houston's starting LT will out serving the first game of a 4 game suspensions for taking a banned substance?

Yeah, I just don't think these teams are even, which is what Vegas is saying with a three point line at home. I'm questioning the line there really. It just seems a bit low to me, I'da figured Houston by 5 or so. I'm sure it's done to influence betting as always though, lots of action on the Cowboys.

I have a stinking feeling the Cowgirls are gonna squeak out a win here. I am picking the Texans in the Poll because I don't care if I win or not I will never pick the Cowgirls to win! But I see the Texans getting a little too high in the britches and the Cowturds have their backs against the wall. If they go 0-3 there season is just about over, not completely but it will be difficult for them to bounce back.
 
El, I think if it was just about ANY other team in the league, there would be a letdown for the Texns. But they are in the same state as Dallas and have got to have a big brother - little brother syndrome. I'm assuming anyway, Lanky might be better able to speak on that.

Agaian, I'm just questioning the line. I agree Dallas will be desperate for a win, just not sure that will be enough.

Side note: did anyone see Simmons on PTI on Wed? They opened the show with Kornheiaer telling Simmons that Wade has bee losing sleep and his appetite over the Cowboys performance so fae this year. Simmons responded with "Thats not good news for Dallas, considering I haven't been impressed with a well rested, well fed Wade Phillips so far."

The thing is, Houston has one of the sorriest pass Ds in the league right now and if Romo, Austin and the rest of the crew ever had a chance to redeem themselves, this would seem to be one of their best shots.

OK so here we are barely three weeks in and I'm already breaking my self imposed rule against last minute changes to my picks. This season is definitely going to be interesting.

As promised, I am starting my slow decline to the bottom of the pack where I was last year (don't worry Boone.. I'm still gonna keep playing) :) ... bad bad week for me.
 
5-8 so far this week. So much for my 4th place standing. Yuck. That's what I get for picking the Packers. :insane:

I had 2 wrong after the 1pm games. Now I have 4 wrong, meaning I missed 3 of 4, all 4pm games as a matter of fact. Sheesh.

One of the things I know right now is-this NFL season is turning into a melee of "they lost to who?":yikes:
 
More weirdness today. Should've voted against Norv - duh. 6-3 so far. New England saved me at the last second - Miami too. Bah.

I meant to change my GB pick when I saw Clay Matthews was inactive but got sidetracked. I hate betting on San Diego! Norvell curse!!! I was looking to take St Louis but with Clayton gone I didn't give them the chance. I think Philly is a better team than I anticipated.
