Five Potential New Names for Washington’s Football Team from Sports Illustrated

The name was already given to us 20 years ago and we have been overlooking it. The Washington Sentinals.

It's not really about a name change, or what it could be changed to. It's the reason it's happening now, as it is, that is unacceptable, for me.
We obviously can't efficiently get into the "99%" percent of why it's happening. Being taboo, and all.
So, we're left with the miniscule, what should it be?

At this point, the only thing I might be able to live with, and I doubt that as well, is just dropping the use of nickname altogether. I would also cheer for the team to then go after the entire league to do the same. No doubt there would be plenty of....................beings.................that could find horrific pain and suffering for the use of just about any nickname. Every team would be allowed to develop their own league approved version of the NFL shield, including colors and design, as their team logo, helmet, and marketing merchandise.

Keep the Burgundy & Gold colors, for obvious reasons. Our ownership here has put much blood, sweat, tears, and dollars into this place.
Lord/Buddha/Allah/Zeus knows they deserve a break.

Barring that, if they change the name, I hope they relocate as well. Which won't matter to me.

Still hoping I'm surprised by,
a) no name change, or.....
b) something I haven't thought of yet that will prevent me from washing my hands of football altogether.

it does...I mainly pulled it due to the Indian logo, but I am not a fan after looking at the Warrior helmet for a while.

Obviously the 1 seed is the Redskins.... it likely happens, just don't want it to suck.


Warriors has a ton of different spins. You can go Gladiator style, Military, Native American.... don't know that you can embrace all of those different 'warriors' throughout different eras... kinda have to pick one and go with it, but who knows.
 
no, not a fan of the warrior helmet with the WW and indian logo. I like the other 2 I posted.
 
Oh, and D.C. Defenders.... but I don't think you can carry over the color scheme to the Defenders.

That's the Juggernaut from Marvel Comics.. just a template. That wouldn't be the logo but more a relation of colors of uniform to a current image. Logo would likely be his helmet or some variation of it. There also multiple spins of this type of suit for Military personnel nicknamed Juggernaut, for the heavily armored

Even when trying to think of a name, my mind draws a blank on what I could possibly get behind, I just don't see it, Washington Monuments? - because Redskins are just history now.

Don't be so sure. There are folks who have been trained in information warfare. You think changing the Redskin name is the end point? The NFL knows it's fighting for its long-term profit margins. We've discussed some of these issues on BGO before. It would be very easy to jump into the fray and play to the very forces that want to see the NFL ended. Watch TV each night and try to convince yourself otherwise.

This kid who runs a Redskins Instagram page is constantly talking about Redwolves. He took the same helo squadron piece that Ken used and tried to make an argument for it. He makes uniforms, and honestly, they all just look like a video game.

I am ready for this to be over with.
