What's for Dinner?

Not dinner but had a Philly cheesesteak for lunch with adjeu (sp) dip. Haven't had that in a long time and boy howdy it was good!

Traditional italian octopus on the grill and spicy broiled brussel sprouts (how's this for a marinade - olive juice, hot sauce, lemon juice, hoisin sauce, italian seasonings, fresh ground pepper?).

If you haven't grilled octopus, you haven't lived. Seriously. It's my go-to Friday night meal these days.

Had polpo ( octopus) tonight. Amazingly enough, it's very expensive here... about 80$ for a good sized octopus from spain. I won't touch anything from china, which are about 35$ You can get about 6 servings out of it once cleaned. Of course, I wasn't cookin tonight..... we ate out. Glad to see ya eating the best sea food there is. It's my favorite.... raw, pickled, boiled..... you name it. I can't get enough of it...

Does octopus taste similar to calimari ?

No, but I really can't describe it. Similar texture as calamari once cooked, but as sushi, it's nowhere as gamy / fishy as calamari can be, and far more tender. Grilled as Boone did is wonderful, and I've done it in a similar manner myself a few times with small ones like pictured in his post. Grilled calamari is also off the wall good. My friends restaurant does octopus as a cold salad. Search polpo salad, to get a better idea.

Homemade chicken pot pie. Nailed it. Also had Mexican Street Corn which didn't pair right but was still killer.

Grilled some teriyaki steak and have baked potatoes in the oven. Will eat after the 8 p.m. BGO Baller's #2 draft. Because I have my priorities right. Been sipping on the BGO stout test bottle. Not fully carbed but very 'coffee' with a kick...

Have a few lbs of ground sausage that I need to figure out what for. Possibly a stew for lunch? Could also be a brinner type thang

Spaghetti sauce? Stuffed zucchini or mushrooms? Chili? Pizza? Fettuccini Alfredo?

Lots of options!

Pot Roast that braised in a Cab for four hours, fork tender goodness. Scalloped potatoes, roasted green beans and roasted sweet potatoes with.

Making a seafood soup/stew. Bought 4 of those frozen combo seafood packs at the grocery (they've got shrimp, mussels, calamari, octopus, who knows what else in them). Had a couple frozen swai fillets in the freezer so I used them as well. Took some chopped celery, garlic, okra, mushrooms, and green onions and sauteed in olive oil. Added all the thawed seafood, a 28 oz can of diced tomatoes, 3-4 cups chicken stock, some chopped fresh parsley (I love that stuff), some bay leaves, a little worchestershire, hot sauce, and fish sauce. Simmering now.

Comfort food.

All that being said, dolphin steaks sound delicious :)

Not for dinner, but made breakfast burritos this mornig after my photo shoot. Bacon, cheddar and eggs on a flour tortilla...mmm good!
