Winter Weather Forecast/Thread, 2013-2014

Happy hour starts in 5 minutes
So Boone gets on FB recently and rants about those who take weather pics from their vehicles. Oh, the irony. :rotflmao:
 
I have to get up at 5 and drive the wife to work.

Then go pick her up at night.

Got in the neighborhood of a foot of snow. Dog can't even walk in it, he has to hop around.

Wife went in at 3 am on her own, the roads weren't too bad yet provided you're not a dope and have 4 wheel drive.

I was then left awake in bed listening to the plow work our neighborhood for an hour and a half until about 5 am. every time he put it in reverse... beep beep beep beep...

ugh.
 
We have about 18 inches so far (any guesses as to how I measured? :)), and still coming down. Figure we'll end up with 20-24 inches.
 
We have 7 inches or so here and it's still coming down... called off my classes today and will probably do the same for tomorrow. Sometimes, it's nice not being a critical leader anymore :)
 
Storm #2 just started.

Expecting ~5 inches in addition to the ~12 we already have.

i ventured out in my genesis. it's RWD and has awful tires (they're performance tires that take a while to warm up before they grip when the road is dry... they have 0 traction in snow)

main roads are fine. quite impressed with how quickly they've cleared this much snow. Virginia ****ing rocks.

almost didn't make it back to the house. the stability control about blew a fuse coming up a slight incline to my drive way :)
 
Finally allowed to return home from work (employer wanted me to stay safe in hotel 30 miles from home). Its nice to work for a company that cares enough about its contractors to put us up in a posh hotel and pay all expenses. Been there since Tuesday morning.

yesterday my dog dug a hole to take a dump. he's a boarder collie, so a foot+ of snow is pretty tall for him.

i was quite impressed at how seriously he took his comfort while taking a dump.

today, he took a running leap, head first, into that hole.

now finding myself suddenly not so impressed.

idiot.
