How much did it cost, and did they have more? I'm getting aggravated, because the liquor store that is ordering me a case of Stagg Jr., isn't having any luck.

Just so I can get this straight....is this the place, in that strip mall, (on the corner), just down the street from the Dairy Queen? They have a couple of kegerators where they fill growlers, right across from cash register? They actually had a bottle of Stagg Jr., but wanted something crazy like $150.00 for

Thats the store Rick. This retails for about $90 if you luck up on that. They had it priced at $119. It goes for about $175 aftermarket. They still have the Jr and I honestly believe the think that it's George T Stagg. The owner wasn't there so I couldn't ask him about it. They have dropped the Jr to $139.99 but that's to much for that right now. They have about 4 bottles of it. I'll check with the owner if he is in next Monday after work and see whats up. They should have had this Four Roses priced more like that. They had 2 bottles I got them both.

I told you not to get your hopes for that case of Jr.

Thanks, Bob! If they drop the price to around $60.00, I'd buy a bottle.

So, I went back to the store where I so graciously left 1 of the 3 bottles of StaggJr on the shelf, so as not to be selfish, and low and behold, there it still sat.

Oh well, I tried. :)

Great!!
Skinsfan1311 happened upon a bottle and here is what he thought, he messaged me the following.

Jr is soooooooo good! I like Buffalo Trace, so I figured that I would like this....nol scratch that,,I love it! This is the best bourbon that I've ever bought. ($57.00 incl tax)

A little birdie told me that HOF44's Jr. stash is about to expand!!!

This is a price list for 2 ounce pours at Bourbon Steak in DC. It's interesting to me the pricing. It's really driven by a combination of name recognition and rarity. Really surprised George T Stagg is priced so low.

Stagg Jr costs more than George T Stagg??? That's gotta be a misprint.

I know right??? The only thing I can think is the 140+ proof of the real Stagg just scares people off trying it.

Isn't the 2013 Stagg only 126proof?

It is the exception to the rule. Most years of the real Stagg especially recently have been of higher proof.

Yeah, when I was looking, I thought I remembered seeing it that way. Was thinking that might be why that bar was selling it for cheaper than Jr. That maybe it was 2013. Stagg.

I doubt it. All Stagg sr has a reputation. As hard as it has become to get I bet they might not even have a current bottle. It was much easier a year or two ago to get hold of.

I've managed to get all but 2002 2003 and 2005 lot a. 2009 is my favorite so far.

Cool. My understanding is that October is when it's released each year. Maybe I'll have the guts to buy a bottle by then.

If I can find it.

I've only had the other two BTAC bourbons, but if they're any judge, the Stagg is amazing.
