So, I have the Stagg Jr. at home and I got to try some of the William Larue Weller barrel strength at a restaurant. Both amazing! Is the proof about the same?

BTAC Weller is usually in the 120's though there was a recent year at 133 so they are comparable with JR being 134.4. What restaurant were you able to find BTAC WLW??? How inch were they charging a pour?

Special occasion...Inn at Little Washington. They also had Eagle Rare 17, Jefferson Presidential 18, Pappy's, Macallan 30. I couldn't afford to try all of them, especially at their prices, so I went with the Weller. I think it was $27. I know......but I had to try it!

Yowza!

And here I thought paying $120 for a bottle of the stuff was expensive!

How'd you like it?

I know....but I decided to just go for it. I had it neat and it was abolsutely amazing! The best bourbon I've ever tasted. I liked it even better than the Stagg Jr., and I love that stuff.

And FYI Lanky, this restaurant is one of those seriously fancy, overpriced places. Top 10 restaurant in the country kind of thing, so they obviously charge a premium on everything. But I've never seen the Weller at any restaurant before. Took my opportunity.

I've heard of it, but never been. Might have too, now that I know about their bourbon selection! Lol

Six more JR's just arrived today. That leaves my inventory at 15 sealed and one open. I think I need to stop!

It's ridiculously priced. The Macallan 25 was $150 and the Macallan 30 was $200. I've had the 25 in a Boston restaurant for less than half that.

I just ordered the cheapest of HOF's highly recommended because I really badly wanted to try it and I was already there. I'm sure you can find all those cheaper.

I haven't found a Houston bar with any of Bob's bourbons, but there's a whisky bar I want to try.

This place: looks like they have the antique collection, actually. No clue what they charge per pour.
