Hicks can play tackle, I would like to see the skins take a tackle in the 4th round, someone that will be around for many years. Hicks would make a good backup or someone to give line help when the linemen need a breather, not sure he would be a starter but he might make it as a guard.

from the Panthers has signed - as per the CBS affiliate in Charlotte.

We could learn more about Foote and Parker in the next couple of days, but it might be a few weeks before we learn more about Kemoeatu. Though his visit Tuesday apparently went well, it's not known whether the Redskins intend to offer him a contract. Kemoeatu is still recovering from Achilles' surgery that kept him out all of 2009. He's
not even running right now, so it's doubtful he'd be in football shape and pass a physical.

So do I, John. Hard to see a downside to adding a monster in the middle on the cheap. No way they expect him to carry the full NT load in 2010, but have to believe they feel pretty good about his ability to be a big part (heh) of the rotation.
 
Gonna be about 700+ lbs of 2 linemen with Hainesworth and Kemoeatsu together. I sure wouldn't want to be a QB with everyone blocking those two and Oracpo single covered.

This is the best part - if he doesn't play, he doesn't get paid. 2 years, $7Mill, but with very little guaranteed. Smart, smart contract for once! In previous years, it would have been a 4 year deal worth probably $10-15Mill, with 5-7 guaranteed. Changes are afoot!
 
Orakpo or Carter/Alexander/Wilson should have a field day.

You figure Big Al has to have 2 blockers,
Kemo with 2 blockers

That means somebody is going to have to either play max protect, or will see a great deal of chipping from a RB/FB/TE which mean Rak should be having some major sacks again this year.

I think what may be overlooked is how our secondary is going to benefit almost as much as the outside linebackers. With the offenses not being able to run on us, that is gonna free up the strong safety to stay back in coverage.

Somebody help me here, in Baltimore's 3-4 I don't remember seeing the safety up on the line as much as here in Washington these last few years. Is this going to give Laron Landry some help since he will not be stuck in man to man in coverage when/if he goes to SS?
 
I know the 3-4 allows CBs to gamble a bit more - should boost D Hall's #'s quite a bit. Not sure about Landry though. Maybe we'll use him like his brother was used in BMore?

That's kinda what I was wondering. His brother seemed fairly comfortable back there. He did have Ed Reed, but I was thinking he probably benefited from the attack up front as much.
