Who are you keeping? (The free agency thread)

Don't want any part of Micah Parsons. He's proven over the past year plus to be a giant distraction as well as a big talent. Let Jerry Jones find a way to sign him for the next 5-7 years and ruin their cap.

Washington has spent so many years previous looking for kickers and punters going back to the mid-1990s.

The fact Tress Way is consistently one of the best in the league means you pay him.

I don't get it, some folks here think Adam Peters has $1.98 in his pocket to bring back players in 2025 and we can't afford to have a slice of cheese to add to the chicken slices and bread to make a full sandwich

We don't have to go diving for quarters in the couch to bring back players like Way.

Agree with all of the above except would keep Mariota and Bates, would want Fowler on a longer deal, and Forrest on a shorter one.

Wagner, Chinn and Fowler are no brainers. Those moves are happening unless something changes. Fowler and Wagner haven't just been surprisingly productive, but they are Dan Quinn guys, and I can't see either really wanting to leave for a few more dollars to play for a new set of coaches.

I do like the idea of resigning Lucas. Depth is critical on the OL and protecting Jayden, just as critical. I think that move might depend on what we do in FA.

Am I missing something about Noah Brown? He isn't on anyone's list here or in that tweet. Is he not also an UFA? He's a guy that we should also bring back, but hopefully as WR4, instead of WR2. We need to upgrade our skill position groups badly.

I think Lucas should be a no brainer. Not much money. Knows the system.

Noah Brown is fine. He’s our #2 receiver. However he was cut by the Texans. I wouldn’t mind brining him back but we need to massively upgrade the WR room. If there is room for him as the #4 or #5, that’s fine. But it should be Terry, somebody not on the roster, McCaffer, depth guys.

I assumed that tomwvr meant Noah Brown instead of Davion Davis (who is not on the team).

Do we need a separate FA 2025 thread, or shall we rename this one to not seem like it is more just about which of our own FA to keep?

There is also this one-

There is also this one-

That's the one! Thanks!

Also, I would Cut Jon Allen. He's just not worth $20 million dollars under any circumstances. It doesn't seem like we miss him at all. If we cut him, we'll be $120 million under the cap. Use that money to extend Terry. I'd add 3 years to Terry's deal, carrying him through 2028, with flexibility to get out of that last year. I would NOT go into 2025 with Terry on the last year of his deal. If anybody deserves to be rewarded, it's Terry.

I'm really not trying to be disrespectful, but I think it's kind of funny that people are giving Mariota this much mind space. I'd honestly love to take a project guy to groom behind Jayden. A guy we could flip for draft capital if he plays well in spot duty. But, if we are a potentially a team contending for a deep playoff run in 2025, maybe that doesn't make as much sense.

Who we re-sign at corner is interesting to me. I was thinking about Chigozie Anusiem, our undrafted FA, but it looks like Cleveland signed him off of our practice squad. I don't really like BSJ as a starter at any position, but I wouldn't hate him as CB4. The rest of the season will be very interesting for him. I'm really curious whether we are going to play Sainristil and Lattimore outside when we have 2 CB's on the field, and whether BSJ will even be the 3rd corner when we play nickel.

An even crazier thought. It might be Sam Hartman. He was pretty effective at Notre Dame and while I don't think he's starter material he may just be good backup/game manager material.

I think Washington goes into the draft and looks to add cornerback depth to groom there.

What would be interesting is if Washington doesn't have the WR, DE or other available that they want at their spot in Round 1, that we see the team take a cornerback to pair with Lattimore.

St. Juste to me is not a starter in this league.

I don't know about Anusiem, but if he wasn't good enough to be elevated from the practice squad to play in this secondary given how poorly they played for much of the season, he's nowhere close to being a major contributor in the NFL. Good luck in Cleveland.

We also need depth at safety. I have not been impressed with Butler or with Forrest. I think these guys are nothing more than backup placeholders to fill in the depth chart.

LOL, i hope these guys aren't targetting Parsons. In fact, I bet they won't even try.

Until this season, Dyami has been another one of those 50/50 guys. He has had so many drops. Amazing what winning does for your concentration. I don't know if the light has gone on or if it's Daniels' accuracy, but he has come through a couple of times and maybe... maybe has made a case for himself.

I would be sweet if Parsons said he wanted to get back with DQ next year. That would remove Dallas leverage!

Regarding Dyami. your right, he must have started using some serious stick em because he couldn't hold onto anything until this year. I see them letting him go

I'd be testing Dynami for PEDs or meth or something after the way he played last night. He was a completely different guy last night.
