What's for Dinner?

I'm weird, I can eat crap for dinner like Hamburger Helper, chicken livers, occasional fish sticks etc. But I have to have a good lunch. And unfortunately a grilled cheese or ham and cheese no longer qualfies, I'm just so sick of that. So I usually get carry out, even when I'm home all day.

Did some rib eyes on the pellet grill. Quick marinade with olive oil, apple cider vinegar, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder, threw them on at low temp for 30 minutes to smoke. Then pulled them off, cranked to 500, 4 minutes per side and they were perfect. Baked potatoes to go with. Not bad for a late Friday winging it meal.

My Dominicana makes all types of flans...coco, mango, cocoa, guava etc...love em

Ribs & wilted spinach ....

You might take a drive down I-70 some late morning or early afternoon and check out Pioneer Pit Beef. Cash only. Worth it.

Oh, it's definitely worth going out of your way for. It takes me 35 mins each way. I go there about once a month. Added bonus, there's a Harbor Freight on Rt 40 on the corner there if you need anything.

...

Perp: Fuck it then. For another pit sandwich and some potato salad, I'll go a few more.

Cop: How you want that?

Perp: Medium rare, lotta horseradish

Shit...it's only 20 minutes, or so from the house. Our oldest son lives in Eldersburg, and the farm I hunt is near Breezewood...I just need to time those drives during mealtime...

I really miss me some MD Pit Beef!

Soft shell season is coming soon!
Soft shell crab BLTs!

I saw a guy make penne a la vodka on The Today Show yesterday. This is my wife's go to when we go out for Italian so I thought I'd give it a shot. I could have sworn we had penne or other pasta noddles, found out we didn't. Rather than using spaghetti noodles I raided a box of Mac and Cheese. It was easy and despite a few rookie mistakes it turned out well.

Doing a brisket and burnt ends on the pellet smoker today. Will make some homemade coleslaw and baked beans to go with it. I like to serve brisket with raw onion slices, sliced jalapeno's and dill pickle slices as they tell me that's kind of the traditional way to serve it in Texas.

I can't believe I had been buying cole slaw at the deli when it's so easy to make. Hell even if I throw out half the bag, which I do often, it's way cheaper and better. I have to have coleslaw when I eat ribs.

If prefer coleslaw homemade because I like extra celery seed, which for me is the defining ingredient, and I find that it is minimally used or missing entirely in store bought versions.

I can confirm that celery seed is the key ingredient, I also add sour cream. I can also confirm that cole slaw is awesome on a BBQ sandwich, I was talking about chicken or ribs. But if I do get a sandwich I get it on the side because you get more that way and I just eat it out of the cup.

For me, coleslaw on any BBQ sandwich is a marriage made in heaven due to the interplay of the vinegar with the inherent sweetness of the sauce.
