The finished product - pretty tasty. Normally, I'd have had a couple of these, but my stomach must have shrunk a bit over the past month. Ate a smaller one and a little rice and I was stuffed!
Boiled down a whole chicken, picked it, and then boiled carrots/onions/celery in the broth. I added egg noodles, threw in spices and the meat back in. Home-made chicken noodle soup! Perfect for a snowy night.
Not dinner but a great meal imo, call it 'egg bake'. Spray a pan then unroll croissants so they stay on a flat sheet covering the bottom of pan. Throw in diced ham, scrambled eggs n cheese and bake on 400* for 45 minutes.
Made fish tacos the other night with Mahi-Mahi, red-curry Coleslaw, and pickled jalapenos and red onions. Had lime-greek yogurt with it. Pretty damned good.
Tonight I did Brussells Sprouts with Tangerine Olive Oil and Raspberry Balsamic. Yum.
I strongly believe there is no such thing as "too much lemon". I made a pasta with a lemon-cream based sauce, then had roasted cauliflower with lemon and chili powder. It was terrific.
For dessert, I eschewed lemon and went with a Chocolate Raspberry torte. Really nice, moist cake with good raspberry flavor.
Well....leave it to me to turn the crockpot on warm and not high. Have had a bean soup warming in the crockpot for 6 hours...wondered why the red beans were still a little hard after so long.
Anyway, red beans, chopped tomatoes, chopped peppers, garlic, onions in chicken broth instead of water.
Boss sent the wife and I to the Capital Grille on him in appreciation for my hard work. I usually don't do a surf and turf, not a huge fan of lobster, but was in the mood tonight.
Had prosciutto wrapped mozz cheese to start.
I had a sirloin, perfectly cooked medium, with a 6 ounce lobster tail. Brussle sprouts baked with the best chunks of bacon I have ever had! I broke from my diet and ate the lobster mac'n cheese. Holy shit that stuff is friggin delicious!
I talked the wife into a piece of sea bass, her first. She loved it! Good to take the wife out without the kids...she deserved to be treated well. I was going to take her to a local place, but the boss came through at the right time.
That is so weird that you posted that, when you did.
Literally, just minutes ago, I just finished baking my first ever loaf of bread, using a bread maker.
There's nothing in the world, like the aroma from a freshly baked loaf of bread, from scratch.
You will never again, want to eat the crap they sell in stores, after experiencing that scent.
Hell yeah I LOVE the smell of fresh bread, especially at small town bakery's. Oh bread is definitely enjoyed in my house. Sliced, rolls, croissants, biscuits, naan, ect its all good.
Probably the #1 reason Ill NEVER have a 6 pack, love my breads too much!
