What's for Dinner?

Pan seared Orange Roughy (because I'm a jerk who loves the taste of unsustainable, irresponsibly harvested seafood), with a leek/thyme cream sauce, and grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto (because I like my pee to smell funny without the burden of an STD).

It's funny, I remember a few months ago when this first started making the rounds on facebook. A bunch of women saw it on pinterest and tried it. Then it was followed by a week full of women bitching about how they couldn't get it to work

This local joint is bringing me a 'super' burger. Has bacon (Canadian and Merican), ham, Swiss and Merican cheese and pepperoni.

Huh ????

It's like the simplest recipe EVER !
I haven't tried it, and it does look simple, but watching the disasters and bitch fests was epic. I thoroughly enjoyed a good week of it. What a lot of these pinterest addicts don't understand, is a vast majority of these projects they see on there are either fake, or heavily filtered and edited, so they will never come out like they look on pinterest. But watching them try and fail anyway has comical results.

Anyone who can't fry an egg in an avocado ring just doesn't know how to cook - it has nothing to do with Pinterest or anything else.

Hmmmm my Sushi chef at the place I go has offered to prepare Lobster Sashimi for me one night if I schedule it ahead. I heard it tastes awesome, but the lobster is still moving when you get it. I think I might have to try this!

Yeah, raw shellfish is something I would never consider. Way too many things in it that can wreak havoc on your body and potentially kill you.

You guys may want to consider these dishes, then :)

"Casu Marzu is a gourmet Italian sheep cheese packed full of live maggots"

What's worse, is you can't just swallow a live maggot.
You HAVE to chew that sucker to pieces before you swallow him.
Because you sure as heck don't want a live maggot in your stomach.
Chewing must be the highlight of eating a live maggot.

The maggots in that cheese are so small you likely wouldn't even notice them if someone didn't tell you 'this cheese has maggots in it'. Not saying you need to run out and try it, but it's really no different from eating anything else. Almost everything we eat is covered in creepy crawlies - the only difference is that most are far too small to be seen with the naked eye. And Fear, you could swallow all the live maggots you wanted without fear - the acid in your stomach would dispatch them almost immediately. That's good protein :)

I'm not so sure about that stomach acid part, Boone.
I mean, you can get parasites from food, and apparently they can survive the acids, and potentially wreak havoc on your body and your life.
And parasites are far smaller than maggots. They have to be seen under a microscope. So, if they could survive stomach acid, I imagine a maggot could.

Also, they are quite visible, according to this review -
"it was actually writhing with squirmy little worms. Even as they jumped off my plate, I knew I couldn't back down."

If live maggots wasn't enough, it actually contains maggot poop.

" it's placed outdoors with a hole cut in the top, through which "cheese flies" enter to lay eggs. The eggs become larvae that devour the cheese, decomposing the fats through digestion and excreting the remains. This fact he emphasized, noting that not only were we eating live maggots, but that the cheese between the bugs was filled with their "poop" (his technical term)."

Tonight I'm making fresh alligator gumbo. I went through hell and back to get my hands on this meat (badabing) it better be worth the trouble.

I've stir fried alligator a couple of times when I saw it at the grocery. Tastes a little like pork to me. Good luck - it'll probably be nice in a gumbo...

I've eaten gator a lot, I love it. I've only ever had it as a kabob though, so this should be awesome.
