What's for Dinner?

The Mrs. made fajitas...boy! That woman has a taste for spicy. John, I think she sprinkled some of your hot pepper salt. I still haven't been able to use it all...it's got so much kick. I always add a dash to my chili and that's plenty!

I like to keep my diet prion free thank you very much. Eating uncooked brains isn't a good idea. Otherwise I'd be glad to give it a try :)

Ever make dinner and know you nailed it? :)

Poached salmon in a bourbon maple sauce with three cheese mac and cheese. Secret ingredient in the mac and cheese was a smoked paprika that crushed it. Effing awesome tonight. I'm on a diet and STILL thinking about grabbing thirds and we finished dinner 40 minutes ago...

Starting a batch of homemade chicken noodle soup.

Edit: Yeah, not trying to brag but everyone went back for 2nds or 3rds.

Steaks at home marinating in some dry seasoning... I live in an apartment so grilling is not an option.. I've pretty much gotten the cook time and temp down pat for a killer steak on the cast iron.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that!

Wife's BDay is today, making Prime Rib, ridiculous mac and cheese, twice baked potatoes, green bean casserole and have her favorite Cab picked out to surprise her with. Not gonna be able to move around 8pm...

I am doing some bbq chicken pre-game on the smoker. Rubbed down some chicken quarters with a nice rub, will add some Sweet Baby Ray's at the end. Potato salad and call it good enough. I've got a football game to watch.

Ain't nobody got time...well there's always time for Bbq chicken!

Went out this morning in search of a fondue pot. Hint: Kmart and Walmart are not the place to look for gourmet food items. Finally found a nice Cuisanart one at Bed, Bath, & Beyond (Holy hell - that is Nirvana for cooking afficiandos by the way!). Going to do a nice swiss/cheddar/Pinot Grigio cheese fondue with french bread, salami, pear/apple, cherry tomato, fresh mushrooms, etc... Figure this is a nice family Christmas Eve tradition to start since it requires everyone to be around the fondue pot.

By brother Jim is doing beef tenderloin for everyone tomorrow - all I'm bringing is some powerful homemade egg nog :)

What you all have going for Christmas Eve and Christmas?

One side of my family had a big meal yesterday since our schedules are odd this year. Tonight will be lower key with some oyster cocktails. Tomorrow night with the other side, we'll start with bloody Marys and oysters. Dinner will wild turkey(the bird ,:beam:), oyster stuffing, potatoes and gravy, etc. Dessert will be gingerbread cookies using my great grandmother's recipe.

Roast Beef and Mac and Cheese tonight. Fondue is one of our favs John. If you have the opportunity, go to the Melting Pot for dinner sometime.

Nothin special, left over meatloaf and roasted potatoes. Was the shiz the other night!
