What's for Dinner?

Mmm... bean soup! :mmm:
Oh man, you're killing me......now I know what I should've made :tantrum:

Not doing too bad here though, gonna do some fresh corn on the cob, brown sugar crusted salmon, garlic knots and beet greens.

Grilled salmon (fresh) that was sent same day delivery from Seattle. Clam chowder. Corn on the cob. Red potatoes. Caesar salad.

Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Rest of week will be dedicated to eating lightly. :)

Just me and the boy tonight - grilled some ribeye and chicken marinated with some Allegro teriyaki marinade kebab-style, green beans w/potatoes.

Some poached rockfish and channel catfish I made last night. First time trying it, and it turned out awesome.

Dude, there are laws against poaching in the Bay!

Smothered pork chops are awesome. I'm thinking about making some smothered rabbit stew next weekend :D

In a rare appearance in the kitchen, my wife actually cooked tonight since her father was in town. She made some sort of Southwestern turkey stew and spoon bread. it was pretty damn good, but since I am on prescription Zantac AND Prilosec, and I still got heart burn, it was definitely on the strong side, but very good.

last night:
grilled chicken (marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic) with romesco sauce (roasted peppers, olive oil, and bread crumbs blended together)

tonight:
bacon-wrapped chicken stuffed w/ whipped cream cheese & chives

Grilled salmon, mashed new potatoes with goat cheese, chives, and sour cream, shrimp scampi. Girls home from UNC with her boyfriend for SB weekend and they requested seafood.

On my own tonight, so listening to one of my favorite Friday night channels, Palladia (Isle of Wight concert currently=awesome) and cooking.

Doing some cornish game hens Peruvian Chicken-style on the grill (see previous entries for that recipe, but it is a classic.

Suddenly dipping temps inspired me to do a fish-crab chowder. Winging it here, but diced an onion and garlic and sauteed with some olive oil. Added a couple cups of chicken stock. Peeled and diced 3 potatoes. Going to add the potatoes, some frozen sweet corn, 4 or 5 cups of milk, some diced cod and crabmeat, salt and pepper, and simmer for a couple hours. I predict this will be delicious :)

Now if only I had some friends to join me, life would be pretty damn good.

Alas...

...you have the guys at BGO. :insane:

The misses is pulling double duties at work tonight so I am right there with ya. But I had to go with a Whopper. Hadn't had one in a while and craved one, so...

You know what? Despite loving to cook - the world's most perfect food for me will always be a great hamburger.

Too bad it's not the healthiest choice in the world - but I can't deny I love a great burger.

I'm not sure how I got to a place where I spend every Friday night alone, cooking for myself, but hey...what are you gonna do? Probably sounds pathetic to most :)

I had the last of the leftovers from the Sunday gathering. Got the remainder of a homemade pizza out of the freezer and had some at 5:00 and the rest of it about an hour ago.
