Happy hour starts in 5 minutes
We pretty much have every TV-watching option available. That's our 'luxury' spending as we don't travel a lot or go out a ton. Will put it on the list to check out.

But has anyone watched/or is watching '3 Body Problem' on Netflix?

The wife and I have watched the first couple of episodes and we're hooked.
 
I have not but I've heard really good things.

I'm watching fallout, last airbender, and dead boy detectives. Can you tell I got kids? 😂
 
Fallout was great and I didn't even play the games. I have the 3 Body Problem on my list although there's a portion of me that might want to read the book first.

Anyone else watching Tokyo Vice on Max? I really enjoy it due to the nuances of the Japanese culture.
 
Today is a big day for me. Homicide: Life on the Street has finally started streaming. Back in 1993 it was much watch tv for me. I would tape new episodes on Friday nights and watch them at 3am when returning home from work.

The show was based on David Simon’s novel Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and was the precursor for his HBO series The Wire. Filmed entirely in Baltimore it featured a young Andre Braugher (RIP) along with Richard Belzer (RIP), Yaphet Kyoto (RIP), Ned Beatty (RIP), Daniel Baldwin, Melissa Leo, Clark Johnson, Kyle Secor, Reed Diamond, and Peter Gerety, among others.

This show (much like Miami Vice) was one of the first to incorporate popular music and has never previously been available for streaming due to the considerable problems associated with compensating the musical artists for their intellectual property. Thanks to Peacock, that has now been rectified for Homicide: LOTS.

Maybe I’m having a moment of nostalgia and romanticism, but they just don’t make shows this good anymore.
 
I have never watched a single episode but I may check it out based on your recommendation.

IIRC, you aren’t really much of a fan of The Wire. While this is different it’s very much the same. The biggest difference is that it’s solely focused on the police side of things.

(My apologies is I’m misremembering. 🙂)
 
I loved the Wire. It was just one of those things where I was told 1000 times I ‘had to see it’ (my Dad especially was a fanatic) so much so that I sort of resisted. I finally watched the whole thing about 5 years ago.
 
I didn't remember the name Homicide: Life on the Street, but when I looked it up on IMDB I remembered it. I think I just remembered it as Homicide. Really liked it though. Didn't know it was related at all to The Wire.
 
Did anyone watch The Penguin? Holy crap was that a good show...

I think The Batman was my least favorite installment of the Batman movies when it came out a couple years ago. But, after a deeper dive into the universe, my wife and I re-watched it and it's pretty cool. I like the gritty feel.
 
I loved it. I still can’t wrap my mind around that that is Colin Farrell. 🤯
 
Guy Ritchie has a show on Netflix called The Gentlemen. Just one season so far. He also has a movie bye the same name. Both are excellent. They’re your typical Guy Ritchie films and if you’re a fan you’ll like them. I’m a huge fan of his.
 
We’ve been watching the new Prime series Cross, based on the Det. Alex Cross series of books from James Patterson. Mostly very well done. Though supposedly taking place in D.C., anyone from the area will quickly know that it was not filmed there (much like House of Cards). There was a lot of b-roll filmed to give that impression but the meat was filmed in Ontario. The producers even went as far as creating a fake set for the interior of Ben’s Chili Bowl.
 
Just finished Succession. Good show, but I found it to be a little redundant with the whole, "who is going to take over?," plot line happening over and over. Like almost every episode. I get that is the central issue of the show, but in the end I felt there could have been more. Constant bickering and betrayal with no one ever owning up or questioning each other. Great acting though and interesting relationships. A few annoying characters, I couldn't handle Greg's stuttering and stammering. 7/10 rating.
