I recently binged watched the two seasons of Paradise. Based on the trailer, I wasn't sure it was going to be that great but I was looking for some filler one night. I couldn't stop watching it once I got going.

I've recently been watching SAS: Rogue Heroes, which starts with their early days in North Africa. 2 seasons completed so far, waiting for the third to drop. Comparing it to other WW2 series, it's somewhere in the range of HBO's war series, but leans into crude humor like Generation Kill.
What platform is that on now? I watched the first season and liked it. It may have been on Amazon for short time because I think it was on MGM+ which we didn't have.

We started season 2 of Sugar on Apple last night. All episodes are now available. Interesting mix of genres, detective and sci-fi.
Really good cast and Colin Farrell, as the lead, is solid as always.

my wife said she liked this show but I haven’t gotten to it yet.
She also likes really likes Shrinking with Harrison Ford. Haven’t gotten to that one either.
I’m halfway through season 2 of Ted Lasso. Which is as good as advertised.
I still enjoy lasso. Thus far, It doesnt have the touching moments of years past, but it is still enjoyable.
I am also happy Lioness is back. That is probably the show i look forward to most each week.

Anybody here watch any of the stuff history and discovery offer ? I've loved treasure hunting since I was a kid, love history, and a great interest in UFO /UAP research. Of course they have to be done to also entertain, so like most reality tv, it's not all as they portray it at times. I follow Oak Island, Blind Frog Ranch, and Skinwalker ranch. Others have dead ended for one reason or another. Lost gold of WW II was a good pure treasure hunting show that ended in mystery after 7 or 8 seasons. Lots of topics to discuss....

We've watched a lot of their 'Foods that made America', 'Toys that made America', type of series and those are fascinating to me.
The slinky for example started out as a spring and when that didn't sell, the inventor was ready to quit when he accidentally dropped his spring on the stairs or a chair. The rest is history.
The food shows showed how Colonel Sanders modified the pressure cooker to make his chicken better. He also killed a competitor over a billboard sign.

I've watched a number of those... Watched modern marvels WW II. Only 3 episodes so far, but some interesting stuff. Never knew blood plasma was dehydrated making it easier to ship, and it had a longer shelf life and not subject to climate. I had never thought about it...
Did somebody really say this? If so, I am assuming they are no longer here?

I sort of stopped watching Oak Island. I assume they have found more wood and scrap metal, lol?
Ya, more trinkets and small metal objects, a coin, a hand cannon (pistol) and other stuff. Depending on how long it's been since you followed it, it's hard to say what they have found since. What gets me crazy, the constant recap. If they finally hit paydirt, cool. If not I still love the active archology happening around some of the sights on the island, giving a more accurate history of who was there. Season ended with the removal of a massive boulder set in the ground with supporting stones holding it in place. Stones under it apparently have been mortared in. New season starts soon, so we'll see.

I've watched it for years. I'm skeptical there is a treasure at this point, and even if there is that they'll ever find it. I know one thing... they've spent a lifetime's worth of treasure looking for it and ending up with a couple of coins and buttons. The power of wanting to believe is incredibly strong. What gets on my nerves is the 'Could it be...?' as in 'Could this hinge be part of a treasure chest holding massive amounts of gold and silver?'

That's sounds similar to watching Gold Rush and hoping for the Hoffman's to strike it big. Yeah, they might, but it never happened.
Ya, the could it be schtick does wear on ya. And your right, the power of wanting to believe is incredibly strong. I guess that's a key part to treasure hunting. The amount of money being thrown at the project is off the wall, and there is tech that could answer most of their questions about what's under the island within a 6 or 7 month time period, most of which is processing the data. Can't imagine the cost, and it would likely end the series. The same tech they used that discover the massive structures under the great pyramids of giza about 2 years ago. Is there treasure on the island... who knows. What I do believe is that there have been a number of different groups going to the island over time for some reason from artifacts they've found. I'm more of a "it's not the destination, but the journey getting there. Tough for me, I got the treasure hunting bug as a kid when I found a mid 1700's glass flask buried at the base of a stone wall. The walls were mostly from the revolution in the mountains around West Point / Harriman St Park. Other kids found musket balls, buttons and other little trinkets. Spent many a day hunting a ghost town called "Doodletown", a mining / farming community that Washingtons troops marched through singing Yankee Doodle they claim. The name actually comes from a Dutch phrase meaning "dead valley". We were mainly looking for depression glass, as the town was active into the mid 60's. You just don't know what's under your feet... my uncle moved to the burbs of NY, decided to put in a pool. While excavating they hit a foundation / footing. In 1967 info was a bit harder to find. Winds up, it was part of a building from Camp Shanks, the largest staging /embarkment camp in the country for troops going to the European theater. His house was at least a mile from what's left of the camp, a small signal corps station / outpost. It was actually a 2000 acre camp. "The last stop USA" and most folks haven't a clue their living on top of it. They just bulldozed most of it, and back filled. Sorry for rambling on off topic.
