It’s hard to see them cutting Compton unless Moses makes great strides. But, it’s also hard to see them giving up on a third-round pick this quickly.

I won't beat a dead horse. I take no issue with your last post - but you've implied a lot more than pass pro being terrible, and barely acknowledge the OL's role in having a GREAT running game. It's not insignificant but I can't make you acknowledge it

In the heat of discourse, I may have made claims about the overall performance of the OL when my ire remains with the poor pass protection, absolutely poor. In a ZBS the run game game excelled over the past 2 years, especially with the threat of a QB taking off for a 78 TD run. I was flabbergasted on a play last year when I saw Tyler Polumbus pulling and getting downfield to blow up a defender for a long run. Blown away!

What blew me away more...was the complete opposite from him in pass pro. He is the worst starting RT we've had here in a very long time because he is so poor in pass pro. Last year I believe every one on this board except maybe one or two, were disgusted by the performance of the right side of the OL, including Montgomery. Why? Because they sucked. The guy was nicknamed Turnstyler for a reason.

What angered me even more? When I glanced over at the intra squad 1 on 1 drills to see Tyler Polumbus reaching for his defender who just blew past him...reminiscent of the past 2 years.

I will leave it at that.

The amazing thing to me about Polumbus is that coaches and even other football people are far less harsh in their assessment than the fans are - it's weird because he is so obviously unable to stop anyone...

Compton has looked like the better of the two.

Compton has been at it for a couple of years, the sixth rounder was regarded as extremely raw and not ready for the NFL.
Perhaps his looking better than Moses might have something to do with his development.

Give Moses the some time to do the same and see where he stands.

Everyone has heard of the Hogs I presume, Donnie Warren was an integral part of that group in pass pro, no reason not to expect similar adaptation by the current group if needed.

tr1, let me tell you what I saw from Moses...

He is HUGE! Not that that is the end all be all, but he is a large man and he moves well.

I saw him get beat a few times, but overall his performance against Chandler Jones was damn good. Jones had 11.5 sacks last year. While he may not be getting much "recognition", from what I saw he looks better than Compton.

That's all I got.

On sirius nfl Pat Kirwan was very adamant about Polumbus looking like ass after his visitvto richmond. Then while visiting the Texans the next day or two later he discussed how Houston is going to target and exploit him in week one.
