I remember on cut day Carolina signed every single DB that hit the waiver wire. I wonder if there are some cheap options there that could upgrade our secondary?
Yeah, 3rds have been changing hands for the receivers.Probably going to take at least a 4th to get anyone decent, even with Forbes etc thrown in
Should have kept 5 DTs and Rideway and cut Davis back in September. We should be hearing something about the defensive tackle position relatively soon. Whether we elevate one or two players or trade for someone. Mathis had a concussion so we have to assume he is out for this week
I totally agreeShould have kept 5 DTs and Rideway and cut Davis back in September.
Deadline quickly approaching. Feel like a trade would've been made by now if the talent level met the price of whomever AP was looking at. Maybe the seller(s) are holding out till the last minute hoping a GM will meet their asking price. After decades of not having a legitimate GM it is so refreshing have AP in control.
Another idea - they have (and have had) a plan, and none of the players they feel are available fit their plan.

What if we could get Miles Garrett for the price Chicago payed for Sweat or San Francisco paid for Chase? It's just good to know that for the first time in a very very long time the guys in charge are going to make a strong qualified decision one way or the other.
I do hope they do something though I doubt it's going to be anybody like Miles Garrett, haha.

I don't think Cleveland would make that deal.
But I agree with the argument that teams are not getting #1 or #2 dratt picks for these trade deadline deals.
Most clubs are looking to acquire solid veterans that fill a hole and selling teams are looking to get some value for guys that are likely not be back in 2025.
When I see folks talk about not trading away the future, I don't think sending a #5 pick or similar for a veteran to help us in 2024 is mortgaging the future.
We can't be so cap obsessed that we basically cede the NFC East to the emerging Eagles given the season Daniels and the team have had.
If you hit on Daniels at quarterback and Coleman at left tackle, that takes TWO of the most expensive positions in the NFL off the table in re the cap for the next 2-3 years.
So, let's not freak about trading a middle round pick as if it somehow means we aren't going to be able to bring in talent in 2025.
It would silly for me to pretend I know who is out there that would be available and for what price. I haven’t a clue.if that's what they do, trust in GMAP. I'd like a CB and Edge, but not at the cost of the future. What teams have been paying for some guys already hasn't been insane yet.
