The NFL has changed. You aren't going to get to Brady or Rodgers from the outside much. Their release is too quick with the short drops that are now a staple.

The Giants beat Brady with inside pressure up the middle in the Super Bowl, rotating guys on the line and using stunts to disorient the NE offense.

Having inside players that can dominate these match ups like the Ravens and Cowboys do allows offense and qb to be more effective.

I don't get into the 'we can't draft a guard at #5 argument'.

You usually aren't supposed to draft a safety there either, but when Sean Taylor is available you don't pass.

The problem is that we fans LOVE to hyperventilate. I see it in fans of every team and other sports too. If there isn't something bitch so much over that we run out of oxygen we don't know what to do.

Moses played well on the first preseason game. He's hd such a great off season and camp they moved Scherff to guard. Scherff had a rough night last night too. I guess by your logic we should release both of them?

no gameplan in the first two games. supposedly, that is not how things get done for the 3rd and critical perseason contest.

That is correct. As happens every preseason, the discussion roars off without a nod to the vast differences in what teams are trying to accomplish on any given play, in any given series, in any given "game." We know little more about how this Redskins team will fare against Miami in week one that we did before kickoff against Cleveland last week. Other than that there appear to be some guys who can't play--Willie Smith?--and maybe some who can (various youngsters who keep flashing), who may or may not be around.

Some interesting observations. Ty Nsekhe making the squad a possibility. Lauvao had the best game of anyone who played.
Scherff made his block on 8 of 14 plays. The other 6 were pretty bad. Had a perfect rating vs Cleveland.

Licht had a bad game.

Lauvao's injury at NY seemed to deflate our run game. Didn't see a whole lot goin' to the right either.

Pass Pro looked fairly good most time's but enough given up to flush Kirk too often.

If Shawn can't go, who's the next man up, not too sure if LeRib(eus) is the answer. Are Arie K and Long getting ready roll?

Guess will have to wait 'til Wed. to hear Lauvao's status.

Liked how Moses came back in after the elbow, guess Trent's 'tude is rubbing off on the guys.

Perusing other sites of interest has our O line showing signs of 'gelling' and may actually evolve into something quite pleasant.

I could see that. Callahan said something like he's "the best 4th rounder he's ever been around." Just gotta' get that run game rockin' again!

Looks like it'll come down to who is ahead by the end of the week between Long and Big Arie.

Part of me hopes it's Long, because I'd really like to think he's going to at least be a serviceable fill-in at some point ... and the clock is ticking at this point.

Arie I'm not too concerned about given Callahan's praise and the reality that for all the talent he might have, he's a rook. Barring injury, seems likely he's going to be starting at some point soon, and may end up being a fixture.

Well, our luck certainly hasn't changed for the better.

What I THINK it says is that heading into the Giants game we were tied for third amount of games lost to injury. They'll be updating it with tomorrow's injury report ... well, tomorrow.

At some point I'm going to actually look at how these stats break down every year in terms of teams that make the playoffs vs those that don't, as correlated to injuries in a particular year.

Or maybe not. I'd like to think I have a life.
