To be honest, the constant piling on against anyone who isnt all rainbows and puppy dogs is annoying and takes away from the fan experience from my POV. I get that yall want to control the tone to a certain degree but its getting to the point of discouraging posting. People here who dont have a warm and fuzzy feeling about everything dont feel like taking on a pack of smiling dogs just to voice their opinion. The same folks who complain some just keep saying the same thing DO the same thing, over and over and over. But if you want to make it ok for some but not all its cool, nobody notices it I'm sure.
As an interested observer, I don't see the "constant piling on against
anyone" that you speak of. There are specific times, and posters, who draw the ire of quite a few, but not for being anti "rainbows and puppy dogs", alone. It's almost always the repetitive nature used, and the indignant tone they take when people don't agree with their idea that they discovered the wheel, and the rest of us are too stupid to see it.
I have rarely heard a complaint about the owner, team, coaches, players, etc..., that I didn't already consider myself. We all give certain ideas different degrees of importance. That's where the rub comes in. Most people post their ideas, and back their premise accordingly. It doesn't take long to know, pretty much, what a poster's views are.
The rainbow and puppy dog folk, aka, positive thinkers, are just skipping down the sidewalk, whistling a tune from the sound of music, enjoying the glimmer of sunlight trying to peak through the clouds. I'm sure than can be annoying to some.
Nowhere near as annoying, IMHO, as the "realist", gloom and doom, aka, negative thinkers. Who have an affinity for walking into a party, jumping up on the table, pissing in the punch bowl, while belting out "The End", by the Doors. I find they are much more consistently "in your face" than the positive crowd.
I believe the positives do turn to getting personal, at times. I believe the negatives start out being personal, more times than not.
But that's just me. Though I am perfect.
