The Jayden Daniels Tracker

Some people were making the comparison earlier. It’s not really apples to apples given opponents

(This rant isn't directed at you Conn ) I really hate the "4th place schedule" vs. the "second place schedule" thing. It's stupid and lazy reporting/analysis. This disappeared as a material thing in the 90's when the divisions started essentially the rotation they are on today, where you play your division teams twice, and then each team plays an NFC division and an AFC division, and then there are 3 games determined by record. And you can look up which division is playing which YEARS into the future. It's a rotation.

Here's our schedule:
Cowboys (2X)
Eagles (2X)
Giants (2X)

AFC West:
Chiefs
Chargers
Broncos
Raiders

NFC North
Bears
Lions
Packers
Vikings

3 other:
Falcons (2nd NFC South)
Seattle (2nd NFC West)
Miami (2nd AFC South)

So, as of this moment in time, we've played only ONE game that was determined by record, that's the Falcons. Which we lost. Also, Miami, which was a second place team last year, is 2-6 this year. The Falcons are all over the map, but 3-4 overall. And Seattle is good. So our 2nd placeness isn't exactly loaded with winning teams. Only one is definitively good.

Looking at New England:
Bills (2X)
Dolphins (2X)
Jets (2X)

AFC North:
Bengals
Browns
Ravens
Steelers

NFC
Bucs
Falcons
Panthers
Saints

3 other:
Titans (4th AFC South)
Giants (4th NFC East)
Raiders (4th AFC West)

Now, they have played 2 of their "other" teams, in the Titans and Raiders. HOWEVER, they LOST to the Raiders in week 1. They did crush the Titans. They haven't played the Giants yet.

The reason the Patriots season is easier is because the Dolphins and Jets are pathetic in their division, and they play them both twice, the AFC North has only one team with a winning record, the 4-3 Steelers, and the NFC South has only one team with a winning record, the Bucs at 6-2. Carolina is 4-4.

Our two divisions, the AFC West has 3 teams with winning records (only the Raiders don't have a winning record) and the NFC North has 3 teams with winning records, only the Vikings are below .500.

I take no issue with the Pats have played worse teams over the first 7 games, and maybe that's a factor for results, that's fine. But it's not because it's a 2nd vs. 4th place schedule. It's because their division stinks and the 2 divisions they are playing have a bunch of bad teams in them. And the divisions we drew don't. And they lost to one of the 4th place teams already, so the 4th placeness of that wasn't helpful to them.

I hate dumb analysis. . Hate it I tell you.

This guy says dislocated elbow, 4-6 weeks “if there are no fractures,” though we may sit him for the season given the circumstances.

It’s not good but it sounds like it could be worse.

There is absolutely nothing good about it other than it is his non-throwing arm. He needs to sit for the rest of the season, that much is certain.

I am starting to wonder if JD can survive in this league with his frame and style of play. We need to protect the hell out of him. Offensive line did not look very good tonight. There is some talent there, but the coaches need to figure it out.

Having an at least adequate running game would help.

Yeah, put him on IR and let him call it a season.

Whether he can come back or not, I'd put him on season ending IR. This season is toast. Let him fully heal and come back fresh next year.

I turned it off at the half. I knew after the first 2 series the game was over. Commanders had to work so hard for every yard and the Hawks acquired them with no effort. I just saw Jayden go down as I watched the rest this morning.

What a total disaster this season has become. We just can't have nice things, now it's a very real question about Jayden being able to play in this league without injury.

Yeah i think the people who wanted maye in the draft and had to listen to all the " i told ya so's" all last year can come out from the shadows now.
Obviously the story isn't any more complete right now than it was last year at this time but damn does it look like Maye is the real deal and jayden is fragile.
I mean, ribs, knee, quad, elbow, its not even one nagging thing.

Maye is definitely winning season 2 but these QBs situations have basically flipped in one year. Except the Patriots actually have a good defense too.

The Patriots have won 6 straight. In those games they have given up 13-13-13-19-20-23 points.

JD would have won those games too.

Our team just sucks.

That defense is pathetic.

Last year, we had a soft schedule and it’s still not as soft as what the Pats are playing this season. We also had full health, our old guys weren’t entirely over the hill yet, and there was a major element of surprise with our offense. The blueprint for stopping our offense is out and we’ve had no answers for how to beat man coverage. No scheming open. Defenders might as well be velcroed to our receivers jerseys. There’s simply nowhere to go with the ball. You can only take off and run for three yards so many times before the hits start costing.

JD would have won those games too.
Only if he was in them.

Maye got sacked 6 times yesterday.

Jayden has had 3 injuries this year all requiring time off.

Im not out on jayden but at this point he cannot stay healthy and maye so far can.

Time will tell if that stays that way.

I wanted Maye bad and I wanted nothing to do with JD due to his slim build.

But I fell in love with JD last year so I'll just hope he can heal properly and we can continue to build around him.

Quinn needs to be fired this morning for having Daniels out there in the fourth quarter. Coaching malfeasance at it's best. There, I said it

Yeah, injured during 3 out of last 5 games. Everyone knew his body type would lead to being more injury prone. If you know that you develop the offense around that, yes his running ability is a weapon but you have to limit that. Its malpractice on this staff knowing that he is going to give his all and put himself out there more because he has crap weapons thus lending himself to an even greater chance of injury. I think we could all see this coming.

My Sundays are free now. I’ll still be watching, but on tape delay. I hope JD recovers and goes onto a great career for us, but right now he is the injury prone guy a lot feared he would be.

Just shut him down for the season. We were never going to the playoffs anyway. Also take the time to evaluate which coaches should stay and which should go. Both our offense and defense are painful to watch right now. So something needs to change there.

As for Maye, I was one of the people who wanted him over JD as well. I loved how JD played last season so I said it looked like I was wrong about him, but I still always said that Maye would also be a top level QB, he just had less starting experience than JD, so it might take a bit more time. Maye does look like thee real deal right now.

Let JD completely heal and reset, figure out the coaching and scheme woes, try to hit on our likely high draft pick, and get ready for 2026.
