I agree but I don't know how often you make it to an NFCCG and then have an 8-game losing streak that also features multiple demolitions of your team, and a shutout to boot by a 3-win team.I know this is not the NFL I knew in my younger days. Still, there is something strange about canning a HC who brought us to the NFC Championship game last year and another team to the Super Bowl not so long ago.
You know that Kyle comes from his tree, right?
If you had said this just one week ago I would have disagreed. The more I have thought about this your 100% right in my opinion. Just to touch on a couple of reasons I have changed my mind on DQ. Everyone bought in after last year, it's increasingly obvious we not only rode the JD magic but also got incredibly fortunate to win a number of those games last year. The Detroit game was also a bit of a mirage due to Lions decimated D. All that aside, I think this year exposed a lot of DQs shortcomings. Team rarely seems prepared, they get out schemed and coached on a regular basis. There was no excuse for a professional organization to lose the way they did against Minnesota. Quinn a great guy, players love him, which is fine when winning. But the cliches don't cut it when losing. I dont doubt his desire to win, I just no longer feel he can consistently improve this team. I dont think we will be 3 -14 next year but I also don't think we will become a 10+ win powerhouse each year. Just my opinion.Somebody do an AI search for best NFL head coaches available 2026. Lordy but we are a broken fanbase in desperate need of therapy.
With a significant portion of this thread calling for a change at HC and people in the JD openly talking about trading the best thing that has happened here since Riggins 4th down carry against Miami, the evidence of abuse is everywhere.
I'm going to need access to everyone's calendars and I'll get right on scheduling a group session.
Thinking Thursday at Noon.
I envision a therapist leaving the room gibbering and drooling after the session. Sic us on some poor therapist? Why would you do that to the poor sap?
Come on. No he doesn’t, he just hired him. Silly to pretend that means Quinn gets to co-opt the Shanahan tree lmao. Kyle has his own tree at this point, Quinn really doesn’t.
Just like, to be fair, if Kliff were hired somewhere as HC (won’t happen)…he wouldn’t be a product of the Quinn coaching tree either. It’s not as simple as working for someone, you need to gain the most important parts of your skill set from them.
A consistently well performing team and organization certainly could though.Sigmund Freud couldn’t fix this fan base.
To be fair, that's less on Daniels and more on Kingsbury. The Vikings pass defense is legitimate--they held the Seahawks to 14/26 for 124 yards, 4 sacks, at home--the previous week. The difference is the Seahawks ran the ball 32 times; we ran it 23 times. Our RBs averaged 5.2 and 4.57 YPC. That needs to be discussed this week. Our franchise QB with a fully healthy slate of weapons couldn't score a single point.
Shanahan also credits Dan Quinn with a lot of his success as a head coach. People are giving Quinn the Dan Snyder-Marty Schottenheimer treatment. The ones complaining about Kingsbury, while pining for Shanahan, are doing the exact same things fans did to the latter when he was OC here. People crying over Drake Maye don't realize he and Vrabel aren't doing anything different than we did last year--just against a much softer schedule. It's rather interesting to see.
Maybe the focus should be getting Cliff out of here so we can all get on the same page with what we do well offensively.
With or without cocaine? 🤣Sigmund Freud couldn’t fix this fan base.
