Garcon..... beast mode
Alf, better late than never
Grant, steady
Reed just enough
O line, nice protect, need a bit more push on the goal line tho

Swaggy, Ryan, Bull Wrestler got some QB
D stood strong for 'most of the game'
Trenton was abused.......... by the refs....... but he sure gets after it.
Tough going in the back with injuries and all, must of done something good in the first half tho.

Think we have a kicker, punter and return guys are getting close, coverage still a question.

Chippy is 2-6 in last 8 :D
 
Spencer Long. Was pretty happy to not hear that name mentioned much.
 
4 out of 5 of our OL were drafted by us. Quite the turnaround from a few years ago when everyone complained bitterly (and justifiably ) that we were ignoring the trenches.

Preston Smith and Trent Murphy both got a sack.

Cousins didn’t suffer his normal 2nd half meltdown.

Both of our last 2 draft classes are looking solid.

We really really need to lock up Keenan Robinson long-term. I genuinely believe he is a top 10 ILB, maybe a top 5.
 
Grant was shaky yesterday, he doesn't make my list.

Our D line looked all world yesterday. I was very happy with them
 
It's so nice to see the young guys stepping up. Crowder is doing all the things he did at Duke, Thompson making the most of his opportunities, DHop looks like he could have a long career here, Scherff looks to be a mauler in the making.
 
Even that catch where Crowder was out of bounds in the end zone was really nice. Over the shoulder, not bobbled...he seems to be able to do that really well.
 
Really liking Crowder's demeanor and body language on the field. Doesn't carry himself like a rook at all. And so far has shown better than average ball skills.

And he IS going to break off a punt return soon. He's getting zero help from his blocking, but you can see he's fearless and just looking for that first legit seam to explode through. Only concern I have is he'll show some rookie frustration at always being swarmed before he even has a chance, and try TOO hard to make something happen and end up giving up the ball.
 
Crowder did everything at Duke. Little guy was the focus of a pretty creative offense. He reminds me a lot of O.J. McDuffy.

I wasn't, actually. Not since our new PK and his bionic leg came to town. :)

What I will admit to, however, is that during pretty much every one of the 15 plays on The Drive, I expected The Curse of JKC to rise up and, stick out a toe and send us sprawling.

Die you old dog, die.
 
As the game wore on yesterday, many were disillusioned with the lack of success in the run game. Yes, yardage we are used to see being churned off was not happening. It was great to see the coach continue to pound the rock even though Morris could get 1 or 2 yards a chunk. They mixed in short passes to help loosen the defense, but we still ran the ball 31 times.

On the 4th quarter game winning drive, their defense was worn...you could see it as our OL shoved them around, even in pass pro. It's great to see a game-winning drive, but to see us churn off nearly 6 minutes doing so was what impressed me most. Those 1-2 yards rushes with Morris paid off in the end.

My friend yesterday told me to stop making the same comment over and over because every time we'd kick off I'd say "holy shit, did that go in to the end zone?!!"

Kind of half kidding...but it sure does feel good not to have that "worry" inside on kickoffs.
 
I was digging through some NFL stats-like usual-and came across one that kind of surprised me.

The Redskins through the first four games are allowing their opponents an average pass completion percentage of 61.1%

That's the 8th best in the league. It raised my eyebrows a bit when I saw that.

Kinda neat that Scot finds these guys, they may not always go in where intended but they still go in and ball.

It must be stated that the defense set up that game-winning drive by the offense with an excellent stand of its own. The Eagles had a first down at midfield with 7:32 left in the game, but the Washington defense forced a three-and-out. Credit nickel corner/safety Kyshoen Jarrett with an excellent pass breakup on an attempt to receiver Jordan Matthews. Jarrett arrived as the ball did and, because he was just to the outside of Matthews, was able to reach around and poke out the ball. If the pass had been completed, the Eagles would have had the ball at the 38-yard line.

Speaking of Jarrett, he had another pivotal play in the fourth quarter. On a second-and-8, he blitzed from the slot, but Bradford handed to Sproles. Jarrett was able to quickly cut and tackle Sproles for only a 2-yard gain. Jarrett has done an excellent job switching to the nickel corner role

1. A win. Nothing can top that, except for a come from behind win in the last few seconds.

2. All credit to Gruden/Callahan for the plan on that last drive (I still don't understand how the play calling works with one calling passes and runs and who decides, etc). But that doesn't matter. To run the ball like they did was the most impressive thing. Going all the way back to the Norv days, the abandonment of the run when behind even by a little has been mind boggling. That was not the case yesterday. A phenomenal job of mixing the run and pass. There was zero panic by the coaching staff.

3. Great job by Cousins all day and especially on that last drive. Again, no panic and he took what the defense gave him. He didn't force anything on that last drive. I think Cousins was better this game than he was against St Louis. That game was won with the run. Cousins had to do a little more today and he did it.

4. Great game plan by the defense as far as the front 7 goes. Yeah, I know the Eagles O-Line is awful, but you have to have a game plan to attack that weakness. They did a great job beating up the O-Line and pressuring Bradford.

5. I'm loving this kicker. In a week where a lot of kickers failed, and even during this game when the other kicker failed, Hopkins made his kicks. And his kick offs. I'm happy with kicking every kickoff out of the end zone. There is finally a kicker who can do that.
