They could mess up an open bar event

So just to sum up today's non-football activities.
- Invite Darryl Grant to the Homecoming celebration but tell him he can't wear anything with 'Redskins' on it
- Hot mic moment for Julie Donaldson where she says she can't believe how many Green Bay fans there are and producer tells her not to say anything else - on the air
- Misspell Mark Moseley's name on his alumni credential, son upset on social media
- Send security guards out to tell fans they can't have 'Sell the Team' signs. Then later apologize for doing so after the game.
- Security making fans with bags on their head take them off.... 'for safety reasons'
- Handing out commemorative seat cushions to fans - on the way OUT of the game because you're afraid to give them out on the way in.
- Tanya Snyder booed by crowd during a jumbotron spot about breast cancer survivors
- Crowd chants 'Sell the Team'
Did I miss anything?

All those examples are bad, but how in the world do you misspell a former player's name?So just to sum up today's non-football activities.

Do you really think that an owner that is facing lawsuits, depositions and hostility of other owners is worried at this point about any of these gaffes or missteps?
Snyder has checked out. He is no longer a visible part of the organization, although he obviously is working through his wife in some regards.
Meanwhile, Ron Rivera and Co. are worried to hell the 2-4 start and thud that is Carson Wentz don't blow up in their faces.
Again, who is worried about name tags?![]()
That's kind of my point. After all the little missteps, you would think they'd have a little more quality control in place. I get small things happen, but small things happen a lot with this crowd. The missteps we're talking about have nothing to do with Snyder. But it does say something about Jason Wright. You're right that this kind of shit in the grand scheme of things is nonsense. But you ought to be able to hold an Alumni celebration event without pissing off legendary players, right? Especially true given how many times you've previously screwed the pooch on that front.

The weird thing about these missteps is that a part of the rebranding that irks me is this idea that they can have their cake and eat it, too. They can shout, "We're a new team! This is the first year of the Commanders" and then in the same breath say, "Hey let's celebrate our 75 years of history and 90 greatest players" whom we will pretend were all Commanders.
The Redskins greats were Redskins greats. One day, there may be Commanders' greats, but not yet. Even Terry right now has a legacy tied to either the Redskins or the WFT.
