We gave up a #5 draft pick for Kyle Allen, a backup's backup, that couldn't really play at an NFL level, even in a relief capacity. He was undrafted by Carolina and they had no intention of starting him. He no doubt would have been released if Washington had waited longer than 60 seconds.
No doubt as a confidant of Ron, Turner was in the discussion on the decision to sign and draft the players they have.
Is Turner why the team is in fourth place?
No, but it's not exactly as if he has a reputation for fielding a unit where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
In fact we look at McLaurin's numbers and the failure to get carries and catches to the running backs the first few weeks of the season as part of the reason we descended down the depths of **** to scoring a low of 8 points against Philly and 12 points against the Bears.
Detroit has one of the worst defenses in the NFL and Washington took over 30 minutes to put up one point against it.
It was a whitewash for 30 plus minutes to start against the Eagles as well.
10 points, 170 yards passing and Terry McLaurin with 2 catches for 15 yards against Dallas?
This offense outside of the Jacksonville second half and the late comeback against Detroit has been just as challenged as it was in 2021 and 2020.
Ron and Scott together haven't made much progress on the score sheet with this offense with whatever personnel groupings they have come up with since 2020.
In that 2 year period, the Eagles seem to have built up an entire football reboot to respectability and contending for a good seed come playoff time.
