The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I wonder sometimes if the front office really appreciates how far down the list we are as 'desirable franchise destinations'... the only way to counter that is to overpay by a significant margin. We'll see but sounds like it's not going great so far. I hope that is just some early bad luck.

Algeier goes for about 6M a year. Gainwell for close to the same, we got neither. I'd have prefered Gainwell though.

The fans should read this too, especially the ones that get wound up when we do overpay.

Can’t spend to protect our franchise QB with one of the top centers in the league. Getting beat out by the Raiders. They’re investing in Mendoza. Amazing.

We did Biadasz a solid by cutting him so he could get a bigger contract than we had him for, that's got to have moved us up past the Browns. I can't wait to read the player reviews of the team next offseason.

Come on. The Jets and Raiders are able to sign players and they are a couple of the most pitiful franchises in the league.

What it comes down to is Washington is going to match other offers or add $1, when competing against the 49ers or Ravens or others we need to be a bit higher than that to get the player.

We also have to figure out TWO players at each position we have a need and smartly pivot from one player to another.

Instead we seem to be all over the place while others are more tightly focused.

No one cares if you missed out on all your targets. Ugh. Smh. Lame. Still early but seems really lame.
Need to start signing premium talent asap.

Getting Tunsil signed is good.. but cmon, he wasn’t going anywhere this year anyway. Looks like Peter’s will again focus on a bunch of C players.. and will most likely be looking for f m job this time next year

Talent signed elsewhere
Useless cap space sits
No stars in D.C.
Still just watching.
Ignoring every player.
Losing out again.
To be fair, this is kind of what I expected and was raked over the coals for all offseason.

But even I’m not reacting too much yet.

We got my #1 target.

And it’s early.

But we need to do something soon. Saying we’re in on some guys and whiffing isn’t reassuring.

Peters coming out of the gate slow with all the money we apparently have to spend. Still early but come on…

You just said the exact same thing I did.
