Gronk wasn't coming off a major injury (that he may or may not have rehabbed properly) and also wasn't a nutjob.
.... I mean.... ya know

Don't let the public "wrestlemania/kick of destiny/insurance commercial" persona fool you. Gronk the NFL TE was a pro's pro..... I mean.... ya know
I wouldn’t totally rule out Giants taking Downs. Harbaugh loves him some Ed Reed types.I'd love it.. But so many draftniks don't think he makes it to 7, that I don't see how they can make him a target.
The only often mentioned first rounders that I think almost for sure will be at 7 are Downs and Bain.

I hate this stupid narrative that seems to float here without any backing:
1. Ayuk stinks - he has been one of the top receivers in the NFL when healthy the last few years
2. he is a cancer - dumb narrative as every player on the niners seems to only have good things to say and Peters does as well
3. bringing him here is a mistake - hows is bringing a young stud receiver here on the cheap is a mistake? esp watching WR scrubs get paid mad cash this offseason
Ill take it a step farther... it would be incredibly stupid for Peters NOT to bring Ayuik here if we are his first choice. (assuming he is on track health wise) and i will be extremely disappointed if he is not here next season . Ability to sign a very good WR on the cheap with basically no downside comes along once in a blue moon.. take advantage!
You mean everyone in the SF building was smiling and thought well of Aiyuk not communicating with the team over his rehab and generally being dismissive of how his team was performing on the field during the season?I hate this stupid narrative that seems to float here without any backing:

Downs, to me, isn’t at all Ed Reed except for the brain.I wouldn’t totally rule out Giants taking Downs. Harbaugh loves him some Ed Reed types.
Plus, he already told the media that he's drafting Downs. And Styles. And Love. And Tate....I wouldn’t totally rule out Giants taking Downs. Harbaugh loves him some Ed Reed types.
The Aiyuk dislike is odd. I’m not exactly dancing on rooftops hoping for him but he’s better than every receiver we’ve had the last few years aside from McLaurin and Deebo (and that depends on the week).
It depends on just how much the devaluation of running backs in the nfl has come back around.I am feeling more and more that Love is out draft target. He is a legit threat in the passing game as well as a runner. He can line up in the slot and catch the ball a ton.

The other thing to look at is Bijan had more premium talent in his class. But to make this about FA… White would be a good “just in case, but please don’t wind up being our top back” optionIt depends on just how much the devaluation of running backs in the nfl has come back around.
Bijan Robinson was a slightly better prospect than love is and he went 8th but I think the position has become a little more valued since then.
Obviously we're nowhere near where we were in the 80s and 90s but I think teams are seeing more value in elite production in the backfield than they did 20 years ago.
Or the Raiders. They are usually in the mix for any player that has gotten in trouble or had issues with his previous team or the law. Here's the other thing with Aiyuk. We've never been the team that has lucked out into being the destination for a situation like this. It's always been one of the "elite" franchises.
