The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I too am a Miami fan and he has always looked really good but he absolutely has not looked the way he did the second half of this past season into the playoff run his entire time at Miami. Recency bias has his stock sky high and he peaked at the right time. I'm still skeptical of how his game translates he won being a little man among boys in college. Will be fun to watch how it translates to the nfl with longer stronger tackles.
I think he has always looked disruptive. But he really stepped up on the biggest stage. Agreed. But little man among boys? Stop it. 😆

That's not always a bad thing though, chemistry between players is important too you just have to have a balance.

The bucs signing gronkowski was very similar and they won the superbowl that year.
Also need to keep JD (and his Mom) happy, which will help come extension time.

I’d like Jennings. If we don’t sign him, I wonder if we go back to the Deebo well. If we cut Terry, we could sign Aiyuk, Deebo, and Jennings! 😂
Throw in TO and Jerry Rice, and you got a deal!

McKissick? He’s been gone awhile… I think we should still keep her happy, though.

We only signed Chaisson for 1 year. EDGE has to still be high on the board. If we'd have signed him to a 3 year deal, I'd think differently.
Well, true. But we don't have ANY depth right now behind Terry at WR and we don't have an NFL caliber starting safety IMO. We also don't have a starting C or LG.

Those spots are EMPTY entirely and need to be addressed before we worry about the DE position for 2027 and 2028.

I think he's a good get at 7. Not my top want at that spot but coming from one of the only people at ES who liked Pierce before that draft and for that matter Terry -- I think he's a cross between Pierce (not as fast but stronger at catch point) and Devonte Smith.

Which is why I would still be open to taking Tyson if Tate is gone

Depends which Aiyuk you are getting. If you are getting 2023 Aiyuk you are getting a true number 1 receiver. And if anyone is going to make him break out again you gotta figure it would be JD.
Thats what concerns me, not knowing which Aiyuk we end up with. If not for JD I dont think AP risks it. Though I suppose a 1 year deal would help counter that.

If they chose not to get Oknkwo.. Debo is essentially a very similar player in how he'll be used.. and can be had for even cheaper this year

I mean.... if we sign him to a sub $10M thats nothing in the WR market.... also.... would it be a bad thing to do your young stud QB a solid?
Can we at least bring in a legit developmental quarterback and release Sam Hartman from all future duties with the team other than acting as Daniels offseason caddy at his country club? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I am feeling more and more that Love is out draft target. He is a legit threat in the passing game as well as a runner. He can line up in the slot and catch the ball a ton.

You really think Tate is going before #7?

I think 50-50. Depends on NY and the Browns.

It's a premium position. Personally, I think Tate is a low end #1 WR or high end #2 -- a Tee Higgins type or Devonte Smith. Those guys go for big money in FA let alone hit FA so if that's a factor to those teams, he might be gone.

Gronk wasn't coming off a major injury (that he may or may not have rehabbed properly) and also wasn't a nutjob.

But where we are drafting it's no certainty we are going to get him thanks to that last game win against the Eagles.

See being moved back from 4 or 5 to 7 really hurts the team now.

All that BS about going for the win with a 40 year old quarterback off the street was nothing but a negative for us, it was a case of winning the battle but losing the war.

It's not like we had a young developmental quarterback and he showed chops in that game and that enhanced his trade status, etc.

The outcome was totally irrelevant.

I'd love it. :). But so many draftniks don't think he makes it to 7, that I don't see how they can make him a target.

The only often mentioned first rounders that I think almost for sure will be at 7 are Downs and Bain.
