Josephs does not interview well. Watching the live interview with him by washington beat reporters is rough. Might have contributed some to his slip.

It seems the word is he has great physical tools and potential, maybe a raw talent, but almost every analyst had him rated much higher than we took him. So I’m keeping an open mind we got a good athlete to develop.

I still have a hard time getting excited about an edge who managed fewer than 10 sacks in four seasons. Especially when we had bigger needs at C, CB, S, and RB.

Ranked as a 3rd/4th rounder on the main draft sites. I just don’t see it as a massive reach, personally, based on that if nothing else.

Agree though, looked development material, fine with that at this stage.

AP has a type.

I don't think it's that. I think Peters wanted as high a floor player as he could get his hands on. Williams super powers are route running and release. Peters needs someone who gets on the field. Williams has fewer question marks. I don't see the high ceiling, but I see him as a consistent, steady contributor. A guy Daniels can trust.

And given the turnover at WR since Daniels came in 2024 I think that's a perfectly reasonable position to take.

We have our #1 pick in 2027 to make a splash with a WR1 selection now that we have addressed the defense and resigned Tunsil.

Besides, if the confidence in the War Room on McCaffrey and Lane was that strong there would have been no need to make this pick.

Again, don't believe what they say, believe what they do.

The teams actions show they don't trust the receivers behind Terry.
 
Yeah, draft threads are like game threads. In other words, what happens in draft threads, game threads, and Vegas stays in Vegas.

Also said he is a much better pass rusher than edge setter/run defender.

FWIW as somebody who likes the guys we ended up taking, I liked Delane and Haulcy too, so I understood your disappointment.
 
At least there was a reason Tate went to TN, to help support Ward' development as a #1 overall pick.

But the Cardinals taking Love doesn't make much sense when you are trotting Carson Beck out there or depending upon 33 year old journeymen like Brissett.

They still have a rebuild to make in Arizona, I would have traded down and gotten more picks.

Peters was smart to sign Okonkwo because after Sadiq there was a shallow draft of prospects at TE in this draft.
