Yes. I love Tunsil, but Houston made it without him, we could have as well. I much rather we kept all our picks and spent our cap more wisely and been much further along our rebuild.

However, we jumped the gun, traded away a bunch of picks and still have a lot of holes to fill. Dead horse argument, I know but jeebus!

fair enough, but Houston and their D might be making it....but I dunno about CJ though. I think he was pretty beaten up last year. Jayden was injured too, but that happened more on runs than complete pass protection breakdowns.

I thought the Tunsil deal was OK because we didn't give up a #1 as other teams have for a LT.

That said, you can make the argument that Conerly Jr. is a natural left tackle and potentially could be moved back to that side, his natural side where his athleticism and quick first step are accentuated while at RT he is struggling a bit on a thinner frame.

I get it, but it’s year 3. Excuses are done, we’ve talked for years about how it doesn’t and shouldn’t take 5 years to rebuild a team.

And I haven’t forgotten we went to the NFC Championship, that was awesome! But we ran it back with an old roster on budget deals. AND traded draft capital for old players too.

Good franchises dont build that way, hell San Francisco didn’t build that way. Peters cut his teeth there…

I think we jumped the gun a bit on Tunsil. However, we cannot complain that the FO isn't supporting Jayden and get mad at the one (you can argue 2 with Conerly) REAL thing they've done to support him up until now.

Having Tunsil is a good thing. I agree, the draft capital may have helped us more long term, but we needed to protect JD5 and got the tackle.

I'm just as critical of this regime than anyone else here. I am not fond of the overall direction yet (I think 2025 offseason really, really hurt us, but I do like where we're going MUCH better than I did last year). But credit where its due.

but Connerly was considered a project because he was so young and needed to add some strength for a few years...but this is where the magic of what you want to see happens. if Connerly becomes viable at the left tackle position in a year or two, we can trade Tunsil or let him go and net a 3rd compensatory pick + having protected jayden's blindside for 3ish years during his most formative years. like the good teams you've been eyeing.

True, but in the Super Bowl against the high scoring Rams it was the Patriots #1 overall defense that won the game by limiting LA and McVay to a Super Bowl era low of 3 points.

The offense only scored 13 points, which is the fewest of any Super Bowl winner.

The Patriots for those runs had a complete team you can't take that away from them. They weren't one player.
