The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

The Ty Simpson selection :bolt:

Let's keep up the momentum with the picks. The Rams are the Rams.

Jalon Kilgore as a versatile piece to utilize in the secondary would be really good value at this point in the draft. We would be fortunate if he is still there at 147.
I like Kilgore. Only concern is that he is more of a nickel (not really a concern, we can use that) / box safety. He isn't a post guy.

But I think this staff likes Quan so...

Hecht, Kilgore, Burks, Emmett are my top guys atm

I like Burks a lot but he feels redundant with the current crop. Like Williams he played both in college but feels like more of a natural slot.

I watched like a clip of Abney prior. Just threw on a Az St D game fast.

Looks alright. Good hips, competitive guy. 5-10 180, isn't that fast and his lateral speed doesn't seem great. We could do worse by adding him. Good in zone for sure.

I don't have a great feel for him by watching a few clips of a single game, of course. So... if he is our pick I'll need to get more acquainted.

I think we jumped the gun a bit on Tunsil. However, we cannot complain that the FO isn't supporting Jayden and get mad at the one (you can argue 2 with Conerly) REAL thing they've done to support him up until now.

Having Tunsil is a good thing. I agree, the draft capital may have helped us more long term, but we needed to protect JD5 and got the tackle.

I'm just as critical of this regime than anyone else here. I am not fond of the overall direction yet (I think 2025 offseason really, really hurt us, but I do like where we're going MUCH better than I did last year). But credit where its due.
Yeah, I agree-ish. They have focused on the trenches which I do like, and I guess I’m starting to see what we want to be; vision of the team.

Seems to be creative offense, I guess, and now blitzing turnover creating defense. Just didn’t work last year due to the injuries. I don’t know what player archetype they want.

For instance, Pittsburgh had been a dline / linebacker led hit you in the mouth defense, that’s what they do.

Houston wants to bring the pressure, monsters up front. Philly gonna pound you and play action, Kansas City pressure defense and speed offense.

What are we? Not quite sure. We’re just waiting for Jayden to make a play.

I haven't watched Kilgore but watched a PFF video him a few minutes ago and reading the scouts report. I am cool with him at the pick but I wouldn't trade up for him.

ESPN has forgotten about the draft. Seems like the local Rams studio show.

My tip guys left:
Brailsford
Hecht
Deion Burks
Zakee Wheatley (Homer pick but can play)
Nick Singleton (Homer pick) But I think would be a really good fit for us. Still dont think we are drafting a RB though

Love the idea of two slots.

But yes, people would definitely get mad we drafted a second slot.

I'm at the point where I would be okay with the NFL setting up a guy in an office announcing picks on Day 3 as they come in. Day 1 should be a production. By this point, we all want to get on with our weekends.

I have not watched him at all, but seems like he has universal draft media love, PFF, etc. My thing is lol how many small corners can a team have? So I'd guess they'd go elsewhere at CB.

We're getting into long snapper territory aren't we?

I think Hecht will be there just don't think AP selects him. I'm hoping we draft him but again, watch out for RB Emmett Johnson had a top 30 visit with us.

I wouldn't be mad. I'd assume they'd move one to play more Z. But yeah Burks IMO is better also than McCaffrey and Lane.
