They must really like what they've seen from Bill in camp! I'll always like BRob for getting them extra 2-3 yards and falling forward for 1st dns lol.

It also helps having a HOF TE who is essentially a no. 1 WR in a substantially lower pay scale market.

I’m sure you’re talking about Kelce, but Ertz is filling that role pretty well for us. He’s currently 6th all-time in catches by a tight end and 9th in yards, and I fully expect him to move up those lists this year, as he’s become Jayden’s favorite target. I don’t know how long he can keep it up, but he’s been a good one so far.
Yes I’m talking about kelce. Statistically ertz is good, but kelce is different. If I’m remembering the convo we were talking about how Mahomrs can live life after they traded Tyreek Hill, and a lot of that was the fact that they had a TE who Al could arguably be a No 1 WR on about 15 teams

I love that this team actually appears to be a meritocracy. Paying Terry for what they think he will do age 31-33, not for what he’s done. Cutting Hampton, a draft pick from just last year.
If they are trading B-Rob, they aren’t tied to a player just because he was a higher draft pick and an incumbent. Rodriguez was a 6th round pick, McNichols a 5th, JCM a 7th, and they have been looking better, so we are moving on from our own 3rd round pick that has started for us for the last few years. This is the ultimate non-Ron Rivera move.
Also, how bad does our trade down now look that brought us Dotson and Robinson? Terrible. If there was a hall of fame for bad drafting, Ron RIvera would be Tom Brady.
I don’t know. I think Robinson brought us value as a third rounder. He was a good back who came up big a few times for us.
He’s good enough that a second contract will be more than what he’s actually worth. And running back is a position where you can replace moderate production fairly easily.
Dotson… ya I can’t say much there. But I don’t think we should be looking at BRob as a mistake. It’s just time to move on.
If he can’t get a new deal elsewhere I’d take him back in a committee at a slight discount real fast…
After watching some preseason running backs, draftees such as Henderson and Tuten, one thing that sticks out is their explosiveness and cutting ability at the line of scrimmage, something that you could never call BRob is explosive. I think we can get drawn into BRob being a decent back because he has been fairly consistent and we forget how an explosive back could look in this offense. This is a relief to see this floated openly by reputable reporters because to be honest (as much as I loved the value selection of JCM—and I do believe they felt confident they could steal him late) it felt weirdly unambitious watching us contentedly go into year 2 under AP/Quinn with Robinson as the main RB when he’s clearly not a great fit or great producer. It felt strangely conservative given the way they’ve moved. Now you can’t fix everything in two years but the thought of watching Robinson be mediocre every week just felt like choosing to settle, when the rest of the roster changes brought so much excitement and explosion to the locker room.
Hope it’s true.

I think this is the downside of a true hard core BPA model. It seems like AP (especially after round 1) is a strict adherent to BPA. The way he tries to patch holes is with one-year fixes. Unfortunately, most of the guys available for a one-year contract are never going to be exciting. Shopping him around is Sky writing to the world that we dont want him anymore and is just one more reason we'll likely get nothing for him because we all but announced we'll release him if we dont trade him.
If a team has a need for an average bruiser type back they may swap late round picks with us or best case scenario give us a 7th but otherwise I'd bet good money he'll be released when that doesnt happen.
