Agreed Gooseneck - I also was watching hishighlights recently - Noah definitely impressed with his toughness & good hands - very happy he's been retained - he's got that "dawg" about him

I think with the addition of Deebo and potentially either another speed back or WR, Noah can slot into a better role and he even more productive. He doesn’t beat man on man coverage well at the LOS. And we used him as essentially a #2 opposite Terry a lot.

I think if he could be the third option and use Deebo to pull coverage, he could be really good on intermediate routes.

I still want a burner at WR though. I doubt we get both a burner at WR and a new starting RB though. I’ll take one or the other I guess.
 
If I had to choose between a burner RB and a burner WR I'd pick running back right now just because I don't want Daniels pulling the ball and running so often in 2025

I think I'd rather have the WR. I want receivers with big YAC capabilities any place on the field as well being a deep ball force. It forces the D to always be one their heels.

I would be okay with a RB upgrade where the player fights for extra yards on every play, never satisfied, can hit or create holes quickly and decent in the pass game. The guy that gets 5 yards on every play, falls forward and has good ball security. I thought that was what BRob was but he really doesn't fight for yards and never became that good receiver, just a dump off guy more or less. Of course to have both WR and RB that can take it to the house would be sweet!
 
Hearing the contract talks are ongoing to keep Terry in Washington is music to my ears. He is such an important cog! It also means there should be more CAP space created for a FA move if needed after he draft

Asked Adam Peters on if there's a desire to give Terry McLaurin a new deal before the season. Said they've had talks with McLaurin's agent and they've been positive so far. "We want to make Terry a Commander for a long time," Peters said.

I think I’d rather have the RB at the moment because I think the WR room is stronger than the RB room with McLaurin, Deebo, Noah Brown and McCaffery. I feel like they will add somebody somehow but I think that group is better than the group last year.

The RB group is unchanged and I think it needs to be changed.

I agree with this. The WR group is better than last year for sure. They do need to further improve but better.

The RB room is stagnant, older and more injury prone (Ekelers concussions in particular) than last year and needs improvements more than the WR room.

However, your statement you'd rather have a burner at RB over WR, not upgrades. I would rather have that burner at WR than a burner at RB.

The entire AP presser from the owners meeting is really good. Cant overstate how lucky we are to have AP. Comparing how he speaks and presents himself in this presser as opposed to the absolute crap they tried to sell us for the past 20 years really illustrates how bad this organization has been run. From Harris on down we have an organization to be proud of.

Yes great point - third option makes a lot of sense when you point out the LOS isn't his real strength. I guess the fact they let Zaccheus go in favor of Noah, says plenty as to what they're seeing in him & how he'll fit with the scheme.

As for RB vs WR, I'd prefer an upgrade at RB & would love if AP can hit on a starting gem in the draft.

Amen to that Chris - well said - the difference is massive - long may AP be at the helm!

I think, based on the reporting, they really wanted OZ back but he got an offer they didn't think was worth paying. Oh well.

I really liked Noah Brown. I think he's smart, physical, he drew a lot of PI calls which meant he was getting open and being interfered with, has sneaky speed.

The addition of a true home-run threat at running back might change the way defenses have to play the entire offense though. Because it would force them to really focus on the RB and not Daniels. Which could open things up for Daniels, or if they commit more people to stop the run, loosen coverage for all the receivers.

I think I've settled on I'd much prefer them to go out and sign a couple more WRs in FA, whoever they might be. There are a bunch of guys out there who could probably had for not a ton of money. Keenan Allen, Amari cooper, Tyler Locket are still banging around out there. Maybe bring one of those guys in, re-sign Crowder, find a couple of other random guys to fill out the rotation on a 1 year deal.

And then prioritize RB in the draft. Go get a guy who can either replace Robinson or challenge him as the RB1. Make defenses HAVE to pay attention to both the RB and Daniels on running plays. I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing a player who could be an immediate difference maker early in the draft.
 
Everyone is forgetting we also resigned KJ Osborne. He averaged 50+ catches and 600 yds 3 seasons in a row for the Vikings. He is only 27. We didn’t get to see him in 2024 but he can play.

Starting to get crowded in that WR room. Other than a WR taken high in this draft its going to be difficult for anyone else outside of the current top 5 or 6 we already have to break into the lineup.

He joined very late in the season.

Boone i did actually entirely forget we resigned him. He is a guy who could do well after being with the team for a bit.
 
I've soured on Hendrickson recently. He'd probably be a great get but my attention has turned towards the draft and the hopes of getting our own long term answers. We've traded away so many resources. Heck, even if it was only for a second rounder I'd probably have to hold my nose to like the deal.
 
Hendrickson is 30, but good lord, he's had at least 13.5 sacks per season for 4 out of the last 5 seasons - and that's his LOW. 17.5 sacks in both 2023 and 2024. 4 straight Pro Bowl elections.

For a 2nd round pick, you are running to the phone to make that trade. We should never forget that a draft pick is a *potential resource*. A proven vet is exactly that.
