The 2025 Free Agency Thread

I stand corrected on Payne and PFF. The reason I even stopped looking at that site was because of the way they graded him a couple of seasons ago. Maybe they have improved some and I should give them another shot. But i still stand by my grade on Sweat. He would immediately become the most impactful player on our DL. And I am not alone in that thought. Your beloved PFF agrees with me.
Sweat has good PFF metrics--but I question how much that has to do with focus on Carter; same with Williams

We traded for #2 receiver.

Now we need to sign younger pass rusher to be the focal on line.

I see OT in draft.

Not much out there at OT in FA.

Hoping for Ward and Hufanga early on.

Not as high on Chinn, tbh.

Need a pass rushing presence as well.

Hopefully GJ as well to help solidify IDL rotation.

Twitter/X still down ....

Relying on your written post. I haven't been able to get into Twitter for awhile now.

Ha! I coach soccer, and you are spot on - very hard skill to teach.... it can be done, but most kids that have it came to it naturally.
It’s what I would call in DQ fashion, my one ‘superpower’ as a soccer player, but I have not had success passing it on to my son. But I digress…

I’m hoping we can land a couple guys in the Biadasz/Luvu mold this FA - quality players with longer term deals, in addition to some of the 1 year deals. Preferably on the lines and/or a corner. Overall though, I’m expecting to be a bit underwhelmed by our FA haul, and if that’s how it indeed plays out, I think I’m good with that… they earned a lot of leeway with me after the outcome of last year’s FA (not that my opinion matters, lol).

As per Matt Miller on BlueSky

Moves this morning:

Khalil Mack re-signs with Chargers on a 1 year deal

Jaycee Horn signs 4 year, $100M extension with Panthers

Grady Jarrett released by Falcons

With X down (along with my investment portfolio), CBS Sports has a live updates show starting on YouTube at noon.

From what’s remaining at edge, Dayo from the Colts at 25 yo is looking like a real good get.

Unless, of course, a Hendrickson trade is in the works……

I’d take them both (depending on contract for Dayo) tbh, we’ll still need more of an all-around EDGE even if we trade for Hendrickson, he should play less snaps and is more of a specialist
