Tee Higgins benefitted from playing with Chase and Burrow for sure but can't we say that he will be in a very similar situation in Washington? Now Terry is not Chase but he stil pulls coverages as most all WR1's do, and Daniels can throw it as well as Burrow can IMO. So I don't see how his production will drop significantly provided he puts in the effort which is always a question with every player who just signed a big deal.
 
Do you guys see any potential upgrades for us at OT? It would be huge for us to go into the draft without a NEED there.

Also, we obviously are going to sign a CB. BSJ is a FA and we need more that Sainristil and Lattimore. I really thought Charvarius Ward was going to be that guy. Physical playmaker. All Pro player in 2023. Origininally signed in San Fran by Peters. Turns 29 in May.

PFF had him ranked as the 3rd best corner going into the league before the season.

But, he has kind of fallen off this year. He has a 57 PFF coverage ranking after posting a, 83 and a 78 the previous 2 years. His 1 year old daughter dies this year, so it could just be that, and my heart goes out to him about it. I think he could see a resurgence here with an up and coming team in a new place.
 
I would not be surprised to see Peters take a corner in Round 1 or 2 to pair with Lattimore.

There is so much competition out there for OTs and WRs that top guys just don't seem to fall anymore and Washington won't have a top 10-15 pick in 2025.

Also, I would think Lattimore wants to get a reworked contract - he's due to make $16M in 2025 but none of it is guaranteed.

So, if we spend to lock up Lattimore, I don't see spending megabucks on a free agent corner.

This team is not going to do what Snyder, Allen and Rivera did in concentrating cap dollars at one or two positions and then having only limited resources to spend elsewhere.

Acquiring Lattimore WAS the big move at cornerback for this team for 2025, it was just made a couple of months earlier than anticipated.
 
I still say discussing specific positions in the draft is fun for message board discussions but Adem Peters will take the best players, regardless of position. The only exception is QB, obviously the won't use a high pick on a QB.
 
I've seen Tee Higgins tossed around a good bit as a name to target in FA.

I'd be pretty nervous to invest top-dollar in a super-sized WR who can't shake leg issues...dude hurts his hammy and/or ankle literally every year and misses games.
 
The thing about getting a top GM who's good at talent evaluation is that you don't necessarily have to get the best known players to get the best talent. Tee Higgins is the player everyone knows. I'd be more excited if Adam unearthed someone about to explode or has been mis/underutilized. For example, I bet there's a great wide receiver out there who looks only good or average because he's got a poor QB.

Maybe this feeling is based on Norvousness from the early Dan Snyder days of shopping name brand on free agency and it working out so poorly.

I get it. But super sized good WR's that are healthier don't make free agency.

It's him or slot WR Chris Godwin. That's about it in free agency.

If we want to upgrade the WR room (and it's a weak WR draft class) then we gotta pay through the nose.
 
There will be some good FA's coming off injuries. It will be interesting to see if Peters looks to get a deal on any of them. Two he has familiarity with are S-San Fran-Hufanga an LB-San Fran-Greenlaw.

The WR market is thin. Higgins and Godwin are going to be paid a king's ransom. Could they turn to TE Gesicki to gain RAC out of the position, moving him all around? Hoping there are some WR CAP casualties because it's one of our biggest weaknesses

Definitely going to be some WR cap casualties - it'll be interesting to see if AP makes a play for Deebo

Hopefully not. He's regrettably washed. He's hit the career span for a RB, which isn't too surprising given how he was used. His ability to separate has declined every year since his big breakout season.

Truthfully was never really a fan. I always thought it was tacky how he was overvalued because he'd get a few carries a game. The guy has never been a good route runner either. He does have his explosiveness still and is a team guy (despite punching the long snapper). Wouldn't be the worst guy to have around on a reasonable deal as KR and WR3
 
I trust Adam Peters implicitly. I hope he looks at Diontae Johnson and decides that he’s worth the trouble. We still do not have a legitimate NFL WR2 and now we also don’t have a legitimate TE receiving threat for as long as Ertz is out
 
Do we have any former Steelers coaches on our staff who might know him?
 
a little late, since Diontae got picked up by the Texans...but i'm fine with KJ Osbourne over Diontae.

besides signing a big-name FA or drafting our #2, next season I'd like for us to get Tim Patrick, if we don't re-sign Noah, to serve as the #3. I have a mancrush on Jakobi Meyers...but I doubt we'd give up any draft capital to get him with 1 year on his contract remaining.
 
I'm wondering if LT Ronnie Stanley would be worth focusing on. He would allow Coleman to move to RT. I understand his age is against him as he would be 31 but good OL have been known to have longevity

The ravens are 17 million under the cap next year, according to, 'Over the Cap'. I think Stanley resigns. Do they have any other big players coming up?

I think an under appreciated facet of team building in San Francisco is how much they utilized trades. Did any of their stars come in FA? It seems like they mostly came in the draft, or in trades. I'd still anticipate us being active in the trade market to get impact players that we can't in FA.
