The 2025 Free Agency Thread

That tells you all you need to know right there. He looks like a 4.6 guy on tape to me.

Not really if he follows up like I've read with running at his pro day. And if there is anything to him being clocked multiple times over 20 MPH on runs last year.

Supposedly he was sick during the combine. lol, if it was anything stomach related the last thing you want to do is sprints on a sick stomach.

He had the 5th best vertical of any player at the combine. 2nd best at RB. Better than Henderson even though he's about 20 pounds heavier. That shows some levels of athleticism. At a minimum he's not a stiff athlete if you can jump like that.

Even if he did run a 4.6, its no deal breaker for a dude who runs and catches like that. He had the 2nd most yards running in this group. The most catching yards. The 2nd most broken tackles. 2nd in both cases to Jeanty.

I think he runs somewhere in the 4'5s. I hope its nothing better than that because lol, he'd be going early 2nd. Right now he seems to be considered by many late 2nd-early third.

One difference though is Deebo's a bit quicker than Skattebo though but yes, comparable for sure. There is no direct match to hi of course.
I'm not going to derail the thread, but I watched the Arizona State bowl game, and whoever was calling the game was getting aroused every time he said Skattebo in the second half.

Rodgers needs to sign with the Steelers. I want the Giants to have to start that Devito guy lol!
I didn't know Danny Devito could play football...

Logan Paulsen is no flame thrower. If anything I get annoyed (though I like him) when he gets a bit too homerish for my liking -- so when he of all people is going it wouldn't surprise him if they moved on from Robinson -- at a minimum it shows that the people here who have had enough of Robinson being the lead in our backfield, aren't just some overreacting emotional fans.
I missed this, when did he say that?

I don't think he has inside information on what the team is doing, but he is employed by the team. It's the same lens I listen to Bram.

I would be really surprised if they moved on from BRob. But I think they're in a tough spot. I think they thought he was a core guy early in the season. And then as the year moved forward, while he remained a big part of the culture, his contributions went down. So, do they prioritize the culture (which was really important) or the contribution.

Could they get anything for BRob? I ask because if AP could get lets say a 6th, I could see him do it.

Not to turn this into the draft thread but Marks to me is much more Ekeler than Deebo. Marks isn't a dog who breaks tackles. He actually has one of the lowest break tackle rate in this class. But he has good vision IMO, great hands. Doesn't have breakaway speed. Really solid.

to me if they want to double on Deebo, Skattebo is that guy, great hands in the passing game, breaks tackles and is a dog like Deebo as far as physicality. I'd be surprised if Neal goes as high as the 3rd, post combne. I'd guess late 4th-5th. I think Giddens > Neal. Harvey IMO definitiely > Neal. But Neal is solid. I wouldn't be unhappy with him.
I hear you. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. We all see things differently and that's cool. I guess to break it down a bit, Marks (a poor man's Deebo) has the hands of Deebo, not the break out speed as him but he is quick and can pick up chunks of yards on any given play. He can take it to the house from time to time, depending on how many defenders are around him at that time.

It will be interesting to see how Skattebo does in the pros. Hopefully, he brings the hammer and can churn out yards, break tackles and do what he did in CFB. I got Giddens = Neal in production at the next level but that's just me. Yes, with Harvey I can see him being better than Giddens, Neal and Tuten as I mentioned him as "possibly" in the 3rd round but he'll probably be taken in round 2. Also, possible that some teams will fall for these or other RBs and nab them earlier or later.

He will still have a private workout right?
Hard to say, DW. Maybe a 5th. AP has depleted the draft picks this year and next to give JD a blindside protector and Deebo as a needed weapon on O for good reason as we know. He also used picks in this year's draft on Lattimore to help our secondary. Hopefully, he rebounds from his injury and plays lights out this year.

Okay, that one is a surprise. I wonder what happened between when he came for a workout last week and today? My guess is that Gallup didn't like the size of Peters' offer and decided to hunt for better.

I wonder if Gallup can function as our 4th/5th receiver speed guy? I wonder if he'll be a camp cut?

Looks like Peter’s ain’t counting on Luke in 2025 to make a major leap.

Terry
Deebo
Noah Brown
Gallup
McCaffrey (?)

Let's be optimistic and assume this is a "competition" pick up. I could be wrong, but I would be surprised if Gallup commanded much salary.

Yeah it feels like a head scratcher that could just be competition.

It could also be that they plan on another trade (assuming DE/EDGE) that takes away more picks and want to be certain we don't need to draft a WR. I'd rather this not be the case but ya never know

It seems we'd still need a returner, especially if McCaffrey didn't make it. If he didn't make it that would also have them admitting they made a big mistake and I don't see that happening

Let's hope not. If Luke Mc. doesn't produce this year as a WR or whatever they may have him do, he will unfortunately be labeled a bust by some fans. We are all rooting for him to take the next step.

I can't see them getting a 5th for him. Feels like they'd be lucky for a 6th or 7th

I may be wrong but im wondering if this is a bit of an indictment of Luke not being where they thought he should be. Then again I think its more about depth and waiting to see how things shake out through the off season.

Does Dominique Hampton move the needle for your hopes in 2025?

Because I haven’t heard one word about him and he was our #6 pick last year.

How many reps did he get in 2024?

Zero.

Robinson despite not ascending to top status as a back is much better than the average end of draft picks.
