The 2025 Draft Thread

Restrepo seems to get open and make the catch, many times with a good yac. May not be the fastest or the tallest but he makes plays

I was a big Ladd McConkey guy last year. I noticed some comp Restrepo to him but I didn't see it. And i mentioned on this thread weeks back. He doesn't have his speed-quickess-explosivenss where he's a threat on all three levels.

I don't think Restrepo will be a bust. But definitiely a slot guy who is likely going to be mostly a first level threat like an older Jamison Crowder. I don't see his YAC translate on the NFL level but i can see him being at least OK on that front.

But that 40 isn't hot for a tight end let alone WR.

Johnny Newton's brother Jerjuan is a very good looking slot WR out of Toledo. I'm surprised he's not getting more attention. I noticed him right away when looking at players to rank.

Would be brutal to pass on Scourton, Conerly and Egbuka for Emmanwori

Yeah i am not into Emmanwori who is becoming an in vogue pick for us at 29. Yeah I get he killed the combine and is jacked and is fast. He's likely a good player. But IMO I am not taking a projection at safety in the first round -- it would feel like a variation of taking Jamin Davis years back. If I am going for a projection, its not going to be in the non premium positions.

Yep. Taking a projection on a non premium position is the type of thing you can do if you have a stacked roster like the Eagles, Lions, etc and, even then, you probably shouldn't do it

yeah if its the Eagles though it would be a projection on the D line or O line, not safety

If the draft fell like Kurt has it I'm 100000% taking Egbuka, Loveland, or Hampton over Emmanwori. I like Emmanwori but I think Loveland is your TE1 for a decade, Egbuka is at worst a WR2 for a decade, and Hampton is likely a franchise RB for...7...years.

This was kind of my worst case scenario for the draft and FA. Let Jeremy Chinn go.Spend 1st round pick on rich man’s Jeremy Chinn.Tread water.

While I;m assuming we go defense early, if we came away with Fannin and Higgins it sets our offense up for a long time.

This is the thing, I just can't see us spending premium draft resources on a safety unless they're definitively BPA.

This is because unlike LT and WR, for S there were solutions in FA. They could have paid Chinn (everyone kinda pegged him as an 8M a year guy so I can't imagine the FO didn't know that was coming) but didn't. They coulda gotten Holland, Bynum, Hufanga, etc., and chose not to spend. They brought in Harris.

Moreover, philosophically this team loves to put floors under positions and will ensure they do if they can. The one position on this team we don't have a "floor" is at pass rushing defensive end/edge, but everywhere else they put a floor there, which leads me to believe they think Harris can start.

Which, if you've demonstrated a willingness to go get solutions to problem positions, AND you've got plenty of cap space, why wouldn't you go get someone?

So I don't see them jumping for Emmanwori or any other safety unless he's majorly BPA, and they think they've got a pro-bowler caliber guy on their hands.

I was reading through PFFs strengths and weaknesses of their top 100 prospects—and this is who he reminded me of. I do shake my head at any safety projections there. I feel like we are going to draft for a bit of need at DE.

Through the year I got a thicker Hunter Renfro vibe when watching Restrepo . He made a great niche for himself at Clemson and with the Raiders after being drafted in the 5th. Restrepo will not last until the 5th, I see him going in the 3rd or 4th.

I'd bet 5th

Jalen Milroe runs a 4.37 forty - knew my eyes weren't failing me, yet. Somebody may trade up for him. It's not out of the realm.
Really want someone dumb to do something extremely dumb for Milroe, Dart, or the like. New York Jets, I am looking in your direction!

Personally I would not be all that dissuaded from Mike Green by that - maybe the vert a little but IMO he can get after the QB for sure.
