The 2025 Draft Thread

Not too early any more. Unfortunately.

I'm trying to think of what the biggest hole is on the team to go after in the first, but like, there's so many holes. Egbuka was kind of my target mentally for a WR if we didn't wanna pay Higgins a bajillion dollars, but if there's a good edge rusher or lineman, we might need to.

It's DL, RB, and OL IMO to use the draft for. Hopefully McGee might supplant Wagner at LB. We have a gazallian holes that coaching & JD masked. I like OZ, but he's just a JAG to be honest. Hopefully Ertz wants to play another year. He's a must resign if he wants to play. We were probably a bottom 5 talent roster in the league. G is also a major need as Cosmi will be a PUP candidate until the middle of next year.

sign a receiver, then draft 2 o-linemen, running back, and the rest defense. I cannot stomach another terrible bend and break defense another year.

I hope we go heavy on defense either in the draft or free agency, I think our offensive line played pretty well today, I think if we had a better RB than BRob our offensive line would have looked better.

A major fix is needed on the DLine. JD5 and his will to win games and enthuse the OL to play won games for us this year. A Bonafide RB is needed in the worst way. BRob seems to be done. Our run game has been non-existent for a long time and why they didn't use CRod is beyond me. A WR or two is a must. This helps but LB and DB is a need too along with depth.

BRob has no vision, not sure why the coaches were down on CRod, he corrected is fumbling problems from his rookie year and he hits the hole better than any RB on the team

Yeah, he's been a solid player, but he's just basically a JAG with some power. He doesn't have any vision and has no juice in his legs. Outside of Terry and Dyami, we had zero speed on offense for JD. It was a miracle we scored as much as we did with a bunch of jags.

The deal with CRod is a bit baffling, must be something they see every day in practice that we don't?? I honestly don't know.............I will say this, it's damn nice waiting until late January to seriously talk about the draft instead of early October like most years

I’m not exaggerating when I say this… when you count starting OL (5) and DL that play regularly (we’ll say 8) that’s 13 players. We legitimately need to replace 9-10 of those guys. Or at least displace and move some to the bench. Thats a 70% turnover rate on the lines.
Biadasz, Armstrong, Newton are the only locks but there a couple others worth bringing back most likely.

Beyond that we can use 3 new backs (Ekeler and Robinson are fine to bring back with a burner type, too, though). Receivers we need 1 high end and one good one.

LBs having another good one doesn’t hurt. Need another CB1 candidate so we can account for Lattimore injuries and let Sainristil move around and use his whole skill set.

Need a safety as Chinn is a FA. I’d look to bring him back…

Lots of holes. Scary.

I'd say Coleman is a lock to be back. Maybe his best future position is at RT/G, but he's all we got at LT right now. Ron's terrible drafts really set the depth of this team back. Without Jayden, I'd say we'd be the worst team in the league. It's amazing we went as far as we did when the only positives from the Ron era draft picks still on the team are Quan, Cosmi, and Bates (soon to be FA).

RB will probably be BPA at 29 to be honest, but this class is so deep, maybe we can target one with our 2nd rounder? I think that 1st rounder must be allotted to either trench spot.

Right now, we have:
29 (1st)
61 (2nd)
79 (3rd)
147 (5th)
206 (6th)
237 (7th)
248 (7th)

Coleman will be back. I don’t think he’s a lock to be starting anywhere, though.

He certainly has a major advantage in the fact that we need four new OL starters with Cosmi out for at least half the year.

Only downside really of our epic season is picking so late puts us out on LT I think. Daniels really helped hide o line issues, thought Coleman was ok for 3rd round rookie. Definitely need a running game to help so we don’t rely on Daniels to save the day all the time, although it worked out pretty damn well this year.

We may have to live with Coleman at LT next year and count on a year of development. Good tackles generally don’t hit FA

The only way that may work is if there's a whole lot of talent infusion at RT, LG and RG along with WR and RB. It's not ideal for JD5

Coleman should get an offseason and training camp to work before we start writing him off.

I said in the spring after the draft, and I still believe, that Peters drafted him thinking he might make a solid LT but if not, he could be an above-average RT once a legit LT is found.

Peters and Company can literally go best player available for the entire draft. This is an amazing position to be in. One that we have not been in since pre Dan. We have a star Quarterback. Sure we would love a cornerback that can lock down wr1s or a wr2 that will scare defenses and help Terry. Truth is we got smashed by a team with a very deep roster.

Our defense could not handle Saquon or AJ.
I don’t blame Peters or the Coaches, or the players.
They gave it everything they had. It wasn’t enough.
