I don''t know if he falls much but if he did he would be a good Payne replacement next year.
It's a good time for him. The whole TE class while is intriguing is also a bit strange to my eyes compared to recent years.
Mason is an example of that. I think he has the third highest floor in this group. A rare borderline bust proof TE. But am also not intrigued at all by his ceiling -- i don't think his ceiling is that high. But I think he's almost surefire a solid #2 TE in this league. High end #2.

Watching some Scourton. I am more impressed than i thought I would be. Disruptive enough. Rip move, bull rush, spin move. Great against the run -- shed blocks and blows up plays. Keeps his eye on mobile QBs and can stymie scrambles.

He is my guy at 29. He is kind of similar to other Purdue DEs who have been there before him like Kerrigan and Karlaftis. Like those two, I don't think he becomes a top 5 EDGE in the league but I think we are looking at a well rounded high floor guy who can be an EDGE1 in the league. Character is good & motor is high too.
If he didn't go A&M, I think he would've been an easy top 20 pick this year.
Yeah Scourton judging by mocks should be there but will see. I get that to some draft talking heads he's boring -- he's not an electric type pass rusher or a freak athlete. It's like going medium for that spot so they find it yawn. But I think he has enough pass rushing chops and is fun to watch against the run.
i like Egbuka a lot but I like Jayden Higgins more. So I'd rather trade down and get Higgins if they go WR. i am guessing Burden will be there at 29 and also in the early 2nd. I like him but don't love him as much as some others do. But even if I loved him, the off field diva reputation he has is a turnoff for me.

Yeah, I think I’m with you here. I’m intrigued by the (potentially) higher ceiling of some edge rushers later, but Scourton seems like a really safe, positive pick that ups the floor of our pass rush, and can contribute right away.
I think my preference, at the moment anyway, is to trade back a few spots and hope Azeyer’h Thomas is there. My impression is that there’s a drop off in corners (that fit our D), whereas DT, OL, receiver and RB have some quality depth probably into the 3rd+ rounds.
Hadn’t thought of this before, but it’s interesting to compare our receiving and corner rooms. Two somewhat older, but quality outside guys in Terry and Lattimore, two really athletic guys with inside/outside versatility in Sainristil and Samuel, 2 young guys that are currently better suited to depth roles (McCaffrey/Igbinoghene), and two quality vets in Jones and Brown that you don’t mind starting (and are better suited to the outside). The main difference, to me, is Lattimore’s health. So corner early, knowing you have the flexibility to look at outside or slot receiver later, is my preferred route.
This is what's fun about the pre-draft lead up, but yet the uncertainty and unknowns are what also frustrate me. I was all set to spend our draft on the D. A 1st round safety, CB, or ED could help turn us into something special. But now the talk of J. Higgins and having the 2025 version of the fun bunch/posse suddenly makes me giggle.

I'd take him over Burden and Pearce for character reasons, I haven't watched Mykel yet but I know many mock drafter love him. I would absolutely take Golden ahead of Scourton.
