Always Commander Never Captain

Mark Brunell was a better player than people remember, but Gibbs II had a few major blunders after the relative success of 2005: Bringing in Al Saunders and losing Ryan Clark were big mistakes, but the worst was taking Jason Campbell over Aaron Rodgers. For years I wondered how things would be different if they got that pick right.
Anyway great post. I recall all the agonizing history of QB ineptitude you’ve laid out. I’m still bitter about Dan Snyder blowing up that 1999 team with Brad Johnson and Stephen Davis.
In fairness it was Carlos Rodgers over Aaron Rodgers. We traded back into the 1st right behind where Aaron Rodgers got picked, for Jason Campbell. But yeah, that was a blunder. Also league wide groupthink that somehow the pre-draft consensus QB1 had warts.
The Packers almost didn't pick Rodgers either. They were in love with DeMarcus Ware and had a trade up for him if he fell further. But then Dallas grabbed him.
