Tell the Truth Sunday- Philadelphia Eagles Edition

Truth is I will always question why an OC facing a 4th and a foot has the QB in gun and RB 8 yards off the LOS and runs the RB.

It exacerbates any one breakdown in the blocking scheme. In that formation maybe its best to PAP and throw it to Don Warren John Bates.

Not sure if anyone else posted this anywhere, but…

Eagles fans can talk about the Hurts injury all they want but here are a few facts:

1. Hurts isn't part of their #1 ranked defense.
2. They had 14-point leads twice in this game and carried a 13-point lead into the 4th quarter.
3. They put up 33 points, 26 of those with Pickett under center.
4. The Washington defense has contained Barkley for 6 of 8 quarters this season - Hurts played for 5 of those quarters.

QB wasn't their issue yesterday.

If the Eagles think it's unfair to play with a back up QB then maybe they ought to return their Super Bowl rings. Plus, Picket is a low end starter who was a first round draft pick for an organization known for drafting well who started multiple seasons. He wasn't exactly one of the jerseys shown above.

It would be a hell of a game if we end up drawing Tampa again. Jayden getting the chance to avenge our season opening loss in his first playoff game would make for an excellent storyline.
Am I the only one who is tired of seeing Tampa or Seattle in the playoffs?

1999: beat Lions, lost to Bucs
2005: beat Bucs, lost to Seahawks
2007: Lost to Seahawks
2012: Lost to Seahawks
2015: lost to Packers
2020: Lost to Bucs

I mean, there are 15 other teams in the NFC. I don’t want to play the Bucs again. Falcons Ill take.

I would take the Bucs over the Eagles. :)

Idiotic Philly logic means that if Hurts was in, they'd have put up over 40.. :ROFLMAO:

I disagree. A hurt QB, even JD5 with bruised ribs is VERY much hindered. And Pickett, is still an ex starter QB who could start for probably half the teams in the NFL now
Kenny Pickett sucks Xameil,he was backing up something called Mason Rudolph before the Steelers traded him. I disagree that he could start for half the teams in the league when he had every opportunity in Pittsburgh to show that he was a viable starter. Career backup, for a reason.

All these things can be true. Philly would have been tougher to defend with Hurts. Hurts didn’t have a freak injury. He makes it difficult for teams to defend the Eagles partially because he can run the ball, and he was hurt running the ball. Not because he fell awkwardly, but because one of our most physical players, Luvu, knocked him out of the game.

It also could be true that if we didn’t have 3 of those freak turnovers, that we wouldn’t have needed Hurts out of the game to win.

And it absolutely is true that Jayden single handedly put the offense on his back and carried us to 36 points and a last second victory against the best defense in the league.

And that last one is the take home that matters. Daniels is the future of this team and the fact that he played like a superstar against a top team and top defense makes us all feel that much more confident in what we already thought about him.

Who cares about whether the defense would have been able to contain Barkley if Hurts was playing. How different is our defense going to look next year? In two years?

Eagles fans still have an inferiority complex in the NFC East.

All of the other teams have 3 plus Super Bowl titles while the Eagles only have their miraculous run with Nick Foles in 2017 to show for since the merger in 1970.

It can be both. Had Hurts played they run the ball a lot more and the Commanders don't have as many opportunties. But as I had said to an Eagles fan friend I was proud that my team hung up 36 points on a defense that is great at all 3 levels. That was very encouraging.
