All these things can be true. Philly would have been tougher to defend with Hurts. Hurts didn’t have a freak injury. He makes it difficult for teams to defend the Eagles partially because he can run the ball, and he was hurt running the ball. Not because he fell awkwardly, but because one of our most physical players, Luvu, knocked him out of the game.
It also could be true that if we didn’t have 3 of those freak turnovers, that we wouldn’t have needed Hurts out of the game to win.
And it absolutely is true that Jayden single handedly put the offense on his back and carried us to 36 points and a last second victory against the best defense in the league.
And that last one is the take home that matters. Daniels is the future of this team and the fact that he played like a superstar against a top team and top defense makes us all feel that much more confident in what we already thought about him.
Who cares about whether the defense would have been able to contain Barkley if Hurts was playing. How different is our defense going to look next year? In two years?
