Tell the Truth Sunday- Philadelphia Eagles Edition

QBs don't get hurt in a vacuum though. the quality of the blocking and lanes created, and the smarts and athletic ability of the QB to avoid big hits is a big factor. Any play good or bad may have an aspect of luck (the hail mary ball in the Bears game that ends up going right to Noah Brown is an example. But there still had to be a lot that went right for that outcome, and things going right is often about the skill and performance of your team.

My truth….

Tired of hearing from ppl we only won cause of Hurts going down…last time I checked Kenny freakin Pickett was a starting QB and beat the Ravens twice last season, remember the #1 seeded Ravens…last time I checked the Eagles OL is hands above the best OL in the NFL… and last I checked Devonta Smith & AJ Brown are the best WR duo in the NFL… and I the last I checked Barkley in arguably 1-2 best RB in the NFL… and oh I forgot their D is the #1 ranked D in the NFL… and loud mouth CJ Gardner isn’t the missing piece of their D either… so walking out of the game with a W turning the ball over 5 times against all that… I say a quality W by any measure…

Oh and also it’s time BRob gets less action and Rodiguez and McNichols gets more reps… for a guy who is 6’’1 230lbs he has no power game… pitter patters and doesn’t hit holes with any authority factor at all…. Definitely need to look over the off season for a answer for him imho

Something seems off with him. Go back and look at some of the runs from last year and earlier this season. He was dragging would be tacklers for 5 yards after contact. Now, as you say he has no power. He looks weak. Im guessing maybe it's injury related but who isn't banged up? We need a stud back to compliment this offense to compete with the best teams in the league and right now the run game is putrid. Granted the Eagles are pretty good at stopping the run. Im really disappointed at what B-Rob has turned into recently and he nearly cost us the game yesterday with two awful fumbles. He also likely cost me my fantasy semi-final game.

It feels like BRob has been hurt all year. He keeps plugging away and trying, but just can't get right. It's terrible timing for him contractwise.

Well, he DID get shot...twice. Maybe some of that is creeping back in.

Well we have to be fair here. Are you actually debating that the Commanders were not able to stack the box and take away Barkley only after Hurts was hurt? Injuries are part of the game but let's not pretend Kenny Picket offers the same challenges as Jalen Hurts. That injury totally changed the game and how the Commanders were able to play defense.

Kinds like it is easier to contain a QB with bruised ribs?

Of course. But going from a healthy Jayden to a compromised Jayden is not like going from Jalen Hurts to Kenny PIckett. The Commanders no longer had to respect the passing game and Hurts abiliy to run. They loaded the box and completely shut down Barkley, something they were not able to do with Hurts. This injury, like the injury to Jaylen earlier in the season, totally changed the game. Just as any injury that removes a team's starting QB totally changes every game.

I disagree. A hurt QB, even JD5 with bruised ribs is VERY much hindered. And Pickett, is still an ex starter QB who could start for probably half the teams in the NFL now

Washington was very lucky to walk away with a win yesterday.

The team showed again how valuable Jayden is, there have only been TWO games all season where a team with 5 turnovers persevered to win and one was yesterday.

The other win was by the 13-2 Lions earlier in the season.

Josh Allen, Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are annually at the top for MVP, but Daniels is very close to the elite group IMO.

Without Daniels this is a 5-12 or 6-10 caliber team, especially with the injuries highlighting how thin the depth is across the board.

This team is a year or two ahead of schedule and that is directly attributable to him.

Give Daniels the Chiefs defense and I think Washington is 12-3 or 13-2.

If they are chronic let's hope they are chronic in the way Gary Clark's were. He played every game on bad hammies.

There is also the possibility that we got a top 10 CB for a 3rd and he's only available for 10-11 games a year. You'd want more, but honestly, that's still a good deal for a 3rd.

Here's a truth: We have a 94% chance to make the playoffs. Here are our clinching scenarios for seed #7 for weeks 17 and 18. We make the playoffs if:

1. We win in week 17 (ATL) OR week 18 (DAL)

If we go 0-2 to finish the season, we still clinch the #7 seed if one of the following happens:

1. Atlanta loses in week 18 (vs CAR)
2. Tampa Bay loses in either week 17 (vs CAR) OR Week 18 (vs. NO)

The only way we miss the playoffs is if the following scenario plays out. In this instance, Tampa would beat us for the #7 seed by virtue of head to head matchup.
1. We lose both remaining games.
2. Atlanta and Tampa both win out.

As the #7 seed, we are basically guaranteed to go to Philly and play game #3 against the Eagles. There's a very small outside chance to play Minnesota, but that involves the Lions losing their last two, philly winning out, and Minnesota both losing Week 17 (vs GB) and winning week 18 (@DET)

In order to clinch the #6 seed and get a more favorable matchup, we need to finish with the same number of wins as Green Bay. We have the tiebreaker over them in this scenario by virtue of better conference record. If we clinch #6, we most likely play either the Rams or the Bucs/Falcons.

Yeah I say we shoot the moon, win out and there's a good chance we get the 6 seed because green bay still has the vikings on their schedule in Minnesota so I decent chance for a loss there.

How awesome would it be to not only have a 12 win season but roll into the playoffs on a win streak and have to face the Rams or the falcons/bucs instead of the eagles.

I think the eagles would crush us but we'd have a good shot at an upset with the 6 seed.

It would be a hell of a game if we end up drawing Tampa again. Jayden getting the chance to avenge our season opening loss in his first playoff game would make for an excellent storyline.
Defenses playing against rookie Qbs generally are considered to have an advantage once there is tape on them. In the case of Daniels, it appears that he has the advantage having tape on them.

If we meet Philly in the playoffs? They are going to be out for blood, total revenge game for them
