I was so downtrodden after that game. I had some plans for dinner and stuff after the game, but instead grabbed a bottle of rum and watched my penguin friend and just moped around instead.

Been a minute since this team has left me feeling that badly. So disappointed. If our team was my son, I'd shave his head and drag him to the local MEPs station.

I am very much a stoic which is why I intentionally avoid the game day chats. I rationally realize that following sports is nothing more than a recreational endeavor.

That said- I monitor and track many metrics daily that are provided to me by my smartwatch. Things like stress level, resting heart rate, sleep quality and body battery levels. All were pretty much off the charts bad overnight. So as much as my brain tells me ‘it’s just a game’…my internal systems say ‘not so fast my friend’.

I'm kind of disappointed in this fanbase. As I said several times yesterday ... suck it up buttercups. We suffered through the Dan Snyder era but we apparently can't survive a 3 game losing streak and 7-5 record in the first year of a rebuild?

I get it. We should've beaten Dallas handily yesterday. However - it IS the NFL. There is an opponent with their own strengths, weaknesses, and motivations on the other side of the LOS. Any given Sunday isn't just a movie title.

Get it out of your system people. This season is far from over. Anything can happen.

I keep thinking or waiting for this team to show some more fire. The first half left me so flat, in honor of them blowing all those opportunities in the first half, I went outside and blew leaves. I would come in and check from time to time, up 9-3, okay, missed extra point will haunt I thought. Then saw Dallas take the lead, okay, time to go do the backyard. Oh, blown coverage, 20-9, oh, well, let me start a fire in the solo stove and have a cigar to at least enjoy something on this Sunday. Oh, hey, that drive was nice, maybe we have something here, let the hijinks begin!
This was yet another weird chapter in what used to be the best rivalry going. Maybe it's a sign of a return to normalcy or better things to come. However, I think a few things, this team seems to perform better when the pressure is off or expectations are low, nobody expected them to come out the gates at 7-2 and then, expectations are raised and talk of the NFC East being there for the taking. Shoot, they didn't play well yesterday on offense until it was 20-9, hey, looks like this is lost, let's go play loose.
To that end, it's time to open up the playbook. The RPO has become predictable and defenses have caught up, sure, you still keep it in there, but if you run it every first and second down, I think they are ready for it.
Okay, that feels better. Time to look ahead to the Titans and better not take them lightly after what they did yesterday, they will have some confidence coming in.

The Dallas game was a disgrace.

You give the opposition 9 points on special teams and lose by 8?

The team wasn’t ready mentally to play a hard 60 minutes.

If this team can’t beat Cooper Rush or Will Levis in November where we have something to play for then this team needs an infusion not only of talent but hard nosed players that don’t cry when they fail to perform.

Have to look at coaches here too.

Hard to believe a Reid or Campbell not scheming and cajoling this team to a win over Dallas irrespective of the injuries.

With 12 days to prepare this was the best effort we could come up with?

Geez.

I'm taking solace in the fact that, while failing to perform, we don't look like we've given up. The players still believe... that's not what I saw while Snyder owned the team

Truth is we're just not that talented pretty much everywhere, especially on both lines. Dallas won the line of scrimmage on both sides. This "rebuild" is going to take at least two more years, but after the last few weeks it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit to see us go heavy on both lines this off-season.....Yes, I know there's some questionable things about our coaching, offense mainly, but do we have anyone on this team that we can say is truly elite?? Terry?? Maybe Luvu?? We definitely have zero players on either line of scrimmage that we can say is a true blue chip talent.

If I think about this team, I predicted six wins at the start of the season. I imagined an awful defense with no pass rushers and iffy coverage. I envisioned a weak oline. I foresaw a battered rookie QB who played like a rookie QB. I hoped for flashes and improvements by the end of the year. I stood firmly on the grounds that this year would be about next year. This year would let Quinn and Peters assess and really figure out how to build the team for as much as they reconstructed the roster, they still did it on the cheap with a lot of one-year and prove-it-to-me type of deals. We signed so many players, but they were all of the solid sort and not of the game changing sort (with the potential exception of Luvu)

When we soared to 7-2 while going toe to toe against some of the league's contenders (Ravens), I reset my expectations to think that this year could also be about this year. Unfortunately, injuries along the line and defenses figuring how to see through our smoke and mirrors have unmasked many of our weaknesses. Noah Brown and Olamadie are castoffs not good enough to make their respective teams. For a while they punched way above their fighting weight. I still think Noah has a chance to be a good one. Luke McCaffrey suffers from Daniels not having time to get to the fourth read on most drop backs and being a rookie. Our running backs, like our wide receivers overproduced, but then got the injury bug. Our defense has improved, but still has the weaknesses we all saw at the start of the season.

So, this being a mental health thread, I will admit to suffering through a bout of delusion. I'll also speculate that the team did, too. The 10.5 point Vegas spread and all this talk of this game being a cakewalk and a gimmee made the team think that if they just didn't make mistakes they could win blindfolded. Now, I didn't get to see the game, I only got to listen to the first quarter before my event started and (speaking of delusions) I know the Redskins never win when I don't watch the game. They never have. It may be a weird coincidence, but they have not won a single game I didn't get to watch or listen to since I became a fan. Now, they've lost many games I have watched, but none that I was pulled away from. So, superstitiously I take the blame and admit fault.

Lastly, I think we all have to make the effort to turn ESers into BGOers. Frankly, the conclusion is unavoidable that once that wave of ESers came to the board the losing started. You brought with you horrible mojo and worse... cursed words like "paloffs." We need a cleansing ritual to bring the spirit of victory back. Desperately.

I'm kidding, of course, about that last coincidence. It's been great to see some familiar names again, but DAMN, you all sure brought the rain with you. You're like relatives who come to visit who somehow bring their bad weather with them. Go burn some vanilla or better yet sing Hail to the Redskins ten times as penitence and for purification.

In conclusion, we are ahead of the game and because of that... losing sucks. Thank G=d, I know longer feel numb during a game and walk away not caring if we lost because I had lost the capacity to believe in the team.

Hail to the Redskins

Yesterday was like a throwback game to the SnyderSkins and I think that's what was so disappointing.

The truth is: this isn't a good football team. We're regressing to where our talent level should have us. We won games early due to facing terrible teams and Daniels playing at an MVP level. He wasn't gonna sustain that level(he's not terrible now, just kinda a normal rookie with some flashes of brilliance which is about what we expected coming in). Coaching isn't an issue besides Kliff's inability to adapt rearing its ugly head again. We have a bunch of WR4s after Terry and our next best skill position players are old af Ertz and Ekeler. None of the CBs would start on any other team except maybe Sarinstil in the slot. The front generates no pass rush.

We overacheived early and are now gonna lose a bunch to balance it out. We were a 6-7 win team that will finish slightly ahead but we're playing to our level. Its just normalization.

With that said, if Daniels recaptures that level of play, we could beat the Titans, Saints, and Cowboys and maybe 10-7 edges a Wild Card where we get boat raced in Philly.

The Truth is.... Robinson got injured on his first carry will likely be injured for a few games. I'll bet its a low high ankle. Quinn is not going to tell us but Ekeler KO'd will really force his hand. Guys suddenly play through high ankles now. I know I wasnt the only one stunned to see BRob back in the game. The dude is a bad ass. I am not sure adding CRod back is going to be enough and look for an insurance back added.

Who really cares if they add CRod back? It’s clear the staff’s disdain for that dude. He finally gets into a game, gives the team quality carries and his reward is being waived.
They clearly have no use for him.

Adam Peters botched the HC hire after Ben Johnson shunned the team.

1.)Dan Quinn has no business being an HC. He's picked up where he left off from being the head guy in Atlanta. This is what his teams do
2.)Kliff Kingsbury has no business being an OC at the NFL level. His system works at the college level, that's it. Once the NFL figures out his offense, about half the season, this is what you get. Same thing happened in Arizona. He had Kyler Murray looking all world then didn't.

We don't miss those two FG's it's a different game, never have I seen a game on both sides decided so much by special teams, they matter. Overall I'm an ehh, I didn't post a score prediction but I did pick us in pickem, it sucks but ffs, itf there's one thing we know all too well, rankings don't mean much in a matchup between us and Dallas.

Disappointed in the game, but I try to keep things in perspective. I watch the whole games every week. I don’t take breaks and go outside etc… I’m alll about this team winning, but putting up with Snyder for so long has taught me not to let it ruin any part of my day. Things are still headed in the right direction. Maybe a little disappointing yesterday, but overall this season has been a success.

I know we lost to Dallas and that in itself pisses people off. But it is a game. One that we have not been very good at for a long time. The only thing I do different if we lose is I tend not to watch other games. When we win, I watch games all day. Yesterday, after the loss I picked up my guitar and had a good evening before settling down and playing Balders Gate with my wife.

I think there are still a lot of reasons to hold your head high as a Washington fan this year. Do they need to get it going? Yes, but ultimately I am proud that our team is not the complete embarrassment that it was just last year. Maybe next year we will continue building in the right direction. If so, I’ll hold my head high then as well.

One more thing, for the love of everything get us some receivers. Outside of Terry this core sucks.

My theory from day one was that Ben Johnson was Peters's preferred pick all along. The Kyle Shanahan to his John Lynch. But after he spurned us and had some bad interviews you gotta go with the only guy left who can at least network and build a staff and had a good interview. Its not that he doesn't like or want Quinn but it absolutely was the second choice.
