Totally spaced on Kendall Fuller playing for the Dolphins

curious to see if Terry falling was the cause of hte pick and what happened.

SIgh. I had high hopes it was just a sophomore slump and Dotson could get his act together. He still can, but sigh...
Looks like I was wrong and he's trending int he wrong direction.

D. Brown seems like he's had a really good camp though. However, I think all things considered, they want him as a solid 3 or 4, not a 2.

Gads, if Dotson busts, Ron's drafts will just be unimaginably terrible. You'd think you'd hit on one first round pick out of 4 just by luck.

I think the problem with Rivera's drafts was he truly wanted to prove he was smarter than everybody. When Gonzalez miraculously falls into our laps we bypass him to nab Forbes to show how smart we are. This is what happened with Jon Allen except we took Jon Allen. When arguably the best WR in the draft fell to us a year earlier, we trade down to draft a different wide receiver. For a moment, that trade did look like Rivera was the smartest guy in the room because we thought we might have hit on Dotson, Howell, and Robinson which together were better than Olave. I still think Howell can become a player, but it won't be for us. Therefore, especially if Dotson can't come back, the smartest guy in the room proved to be the dumbest.

It all goes back to the old cliche'. The bird in the hand is worth more than trading down for two in the bush.

No argument here....

Each of the last 3 Rivera drafts there was a 'guy' that fell to him and he passed.

What's crazy is that he passed for someone at the same position. I mean I can see the Chase Young argument. You think you have the second coming of Reggie White and you love everything about him then maybe you can talk yourself into skipping the QB that falls to you, but in these cases Rivera skipped the guy at a position of need in order to draft the a different guy at the same position...? Well, if you do that you better be right because otherwise everyone will discover just how dumb you are.

What's hilarious is that given everyone got to see just how dumb he is that the sports media scooped him up and seem to be trying to highlight him which begs the question... just how dumb are they?

It's not just his draft record, it's that he left here apparently clueless about just how bereft of talent his roster truly was. Remember - his response when it became clear he was going to be replaced by a new owner was to suggest that they should send him his Super Bowl ring when the roster he assembled proved elite. I mean, if that suggestion doesn't tell you everything you need to know about Rivera's judgment, I don't know what does?

Dotson at 5'10 and 185 is a third receiver at best. If he was not a former #1 pick, he would be getting less time to make his case.

He has been outplayed by Zaccheus in camp and he came to us as a free agent from the Eagles where he had been on PS for them for a stretch.

Jamin Davis is Rivera's only hope to have identified a productive player fat top of draft for us and this has come only after he's been switched TWICE from middle linebacker to outside linebacker and then to rush end.

What that tells me is Jamin has real physical upside, but he's not really capable of understanding the defense well enough to call plays or read coverages.

He's like a wide receiver where the OC tells him that when he's in the game to 'just go long' :ROFLMAO:

This is Davis’ last year on the team. They didn’t pick up his 5th year option and unless something really strange happens, he will be playing elsewhere next season.

Dotson is entering year 3. At the end of this season the team needs to make a decision on whether to pick up his 5th year option.

If they don’t, Ron will be 0-4 on the team not picking up a 5th year option on a first round pick.

That’s hard to do if you try.

We are in a good/unique place in that we have enough cap space that if any number of our prove-it players surprise we can reward them, but yeah, the smart money is to bet that Davis won't see a second contract with this team. The fact that he's played in the fourth quarter in two preseason games bodes badly for him. After all, if his transition was going great they wouldn't put him at risk for injury not for the benefit of seeing a few extra preseason reps.

Some Jayden love

Hartman and Mariota practicing

Man have I wanted to hear stuff like this for so long. Forever we've had 'guys' that can do multiple things and we don't take advantage of it. PLAYMAKERS! WEAPONS!
