Gay is 31 and flawed. He won’t be back in 2026 so at 3-8 why not bring in some other guys and see if we can find a younger player that can make the most of the opportunity?
To me there is no argument to be made that aging declining players like this should be kept because they bring ‘stability’.
At 3-8 and potentially losing most of the remaining games ‘stability’ went out the window several weeks ago.
What we need to see is competitiveness and potential.

MacNichol is almost 31. For a running back that is old even in dog years.
We don’t gain anything by playing him in extended time as he’s another guy that is gone in the offseason.
