I think 4 of his 6 kicks have been 50 yds plus. Him missing the 37 yarder yesterday infuriated me. He’s got to do better and soon or they would be justified in moving on.

Should've brought in competition during camp.
Should've been cut at the end of preseason.

He's been a disaster.

Didn’t the Steelers cut a promising kicker after a good preseason because they had two?

There are college kickers who turn real estate agents because they never got a chance. Send someone out to investigate every real estate agent with in 100 mile radius who is under the age of 30. Surely there is someone who can kick 40 yard field goals with a perfectly preserved leg.

yeah this is the first one that really bothered me. He's never been really good beyond 50, so those misses... if you expected a different result, i dont know what to tell you.

The latest one is an issue. We're blessed it didn't come back to bite us, thankfully it was not in crunch time so you wonder if it was a footing error like playing golf and something is just a tick off and you feel it. Guys miss kicks sometimes, so I guess we gotta hope this was one of those misses, and it'll be a better track record going forward. We see guys like Graham Gano and Dustin Hopkins still kicking in the NFL and it's annoying.

Brandon Aubrey is the exception, as was Tucker. They're just different. Those guys aren't walking the street in their prime. I hope we invest in that position heavily with resources beyond just a paycheck this offseason. Multiple guys, hell, draft a guy in the 6th or 7th if you think he's got enough value there. Having a kicker you don't have to think about for a decade is an absolute gamechanger.

Please cut him and let him have a long career elsewhere. He is NOT getting it done here.

Havrisik might be available after this week...

Gay is 31 and flawed. He won’t be back in 2026 so at 3-8 why not bring in some other guys and see if we can find a younger player that can make the most of the opportunity?

To me there is no argument to be made that aging declining players like this should be kept because they bring ‘stability’.

At 3-8 and potentially losing most of the remaining games ‘stability’ went out the window several weeks ago.

What we need to see is competitiveness and potential.

Rodriguez has changed my mind about the RB position and if healthy should be on the field going forward.

MacNichol is almost 31. For a running back that is old even in dog years.

We don’t gain anything by playing him in extended time as he’s another guy that is gone in the offseason.

Yes. We should have stuck with the doink.

I say go after the Green Bay back up kicker after McManus comes back. He can hit past 50+

McManus has been back but they know what they have and won’t cut him yet. No brainer to add him if they do cut him.

Separately, why didn’t we sign to our PS and try to fix Koo like the Giants have aimed to do? I know he wasn’t good today but this seems like a low risk way to take a shot on a still young guy

The cap savings on a kicker on an entry level contract vs Gay are not insignificant - about $5M. That’s the cost of a Deatrich Wise
